-Thailand has relatively complicated tariff structure with number of duty-freetariff lines, ad valorem tariffs, & non-ad valorem duties, of which some are

alternate duty rates (the higher of an ad valorem rate and a specific duty).

- Average MFN tariff is 11.2% with average tariff on agriculture productsbeing 26% and tariff on beverages & tobacco at 49%.

- Tariff quotas on agricultural products, including products that Thailand is anet exporter of, such as Rice & Sugar.

- Extremely favorable tariff regime for ASEAN countries--Should consideraccording similar tariffs for Pakistan.

- Thailand imposes import license on Marble and Granite whereby importersneed to obtain prior authorization from Ministry of Commerce andimportation is only authorized for quantity needed for specifiedconstruction projects. (No cut and polished stones can be imported forother purposes e.g. kitchen counters, furniture etc).
