Love paintings? Join fellow paintings aficionados to celebrate, support, and learn more about the superb quality and array of paintings held in the MIA’s permanent collection.

Founded in 1983, the Paintings Curatorial Council of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts supports the activities of the Department of Paintings and Modern Sculpture.

Council members gain greater personal knowledge of the history of European and American painting. At the same time, they enjoy a valuable opportunity to learn more about collecting, share their enthusiasm for paintings, and help to generate funds that will enrich the department’s collections.

Members of the council receive special invitations to lectures, tours, symposia, and travel opportu-nities. The council extends an open invitation to beginning enthusiasts and serious collectors alike to take part in its activities.
