least 20 seconds.

• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze.

affected by this virus around the world.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all under
standing, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6-7).
While the church family is unable to attend Sunday school
and worship services due to the cancellation of services,
we ask that you prayerfully continue to support your church
with your prayers, tithes and offerings and monetary gifts.
We have included an envelope addressed to the church
for your convenience. Thank you!
LET’S WORSHIP
THE LORD
THROUGH GIVING!
Due to a heating problem (or a lack there of) in the sanctuary on Sunday, February 23rd we held our worship service in Fellowship Hall rather than cancel our service. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers and to every-one's patience and understanding, it turned out to be a great day with 98 in
attendance!
Also a BIG THANK YOU to everyone: the leadership, staff and volunteers who pulled together and helped with the fundraiser lunch that followed, which also was a big success, we served over 80 church family and friends.
We are so grateful to all those who participated, thank you for your generosity in donating non-perishable food items for the pantry. WOW!! What an amazing supply of food items and monetary gifts. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!

The season of Lent is now firmly upon us.
We are anticipating the life, death, and magnifi-
cent resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. He came to save us and to empower us
to live a life of holiness and obedience. Why
did He do it? He did it because He loved us
while we were yet sinners. He did not want us to perish. He knew that men
and women could not be good and righteous without Him. Although
humans have some good traits they are still in need of a savior who can
make them righteous in the view of God.
Oh, and what benefits we receive when truly we are His. We have eter-
nal life with Jesus. We receive a home in the heavens not made by human
hands but by God himself. We receive a new helper who is the Holy Spirit.
And we are given strength to endure all hardships. Plus we are commis-
sioned to go to all places to speak to all persons about our Lord. These are
the greatest gifts anyone can receive.
So, as we look forward to Easter Sunday, let us rejoice in our new found
state (righteousness), our blessed home (Heaven), our new helper (Holy
Spirit), and our new mission being (missionaries). So it is with much excite-
ment that I look forward to our wonderful time in Christ at First Baptist
Church of Elkins. We are all united in Christ Jesus our Lord. So let’s cele-
brate His Glorious Coming.
