Shri Inder Parkash Langar son of late Shri Sunder Dass Langar was born in1949 in village Kaleeth, Tehsil Akhnoor, district Jammu. He had three brothers and three sisters. His father was a businessman.

He completed his matriculation and started his own business at Akhnoor. By dint ofhis hard work and ability, he expanded his business and became famous as'Patasiyan wala Shah'. He got married to Kiran Gupta daughter of Shri Mela RamGupta resident of Sunderbani, district Rajouri. He was blessed with two sons andone daughter whom he provided good education and they are well settled. His elderson is a government contractor and the younger son is again a businessman. Hisdaughter is married in a good family.He had a very mixing nature and a soft spoken person who would soon create friend-ship with the strangers also. He was very helpful to the poor and needy people. Hewas a God fearing person and used to visit Mandir regularly. He was staunch devo-tee of Raja Mandleek. He donated liberally for the social and religious activities.He breathed his last due to cardiac arrest and his Uthala will be held on 7th February,2018. He is survived by his wife, two sons, one daughter and grand children. MayGod give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the family to bear thisirreparable loss.

‘Indian Railways tophase out diesel

locomotives by 2022’AGENCY

NEW DELHI: RailwayMinister Piyush Goyaladdressing a conferencehere asked the officials tospeed up the electrifica-tion work and set the tar-get of 2022 to switch toelectric locomotives com-pletely by phasing outtheir diesel counterpartswith a focus on increas-ing speed.

The Minister also setthe target to install LEDlights in all railway prop-erties including stations,yards, housing coloniesand hospitals in the nexteight months.

The Railways will saveabout Rs 11,500 croreannually through such amove, officials said.

Shifting of railwaysinto fully electric modewill save lots of moneyspent in importing diesel.

At present, theRailways has a fleet of19,000 passenger andgoods trains.

Of these, about 5,000trains run on diesel byconsuming around 2.8billion litre of diesel ayear.
