August 17th - Jerry Wayne PARTICIPANTS of the annual Morning Manna Food Pan- try's Back to School Celebration, held July 27th at Ripley Elementary School, were presented backpacks, watches, gifts, and school supplies. Two students received a Griz- zlies basketball. This was the fifth annual event, sponsored by Save The Children Outreach International and Azuza Fresh Oil Ministries' Morning Manna Food Pantry. Approx- imately 200 children attended the event and participated in classes for anger management, grief, gangs, elderly care, and more. Those in attendance were served a free luncheon. Approximately 85 families have been assisted with a three-day supply of food and clothing at the end of the event. The regular food pantry will not be held this weekend, it has been moved to the fifth Saturday, August 31st from 9 to 11 a.m. at the facility, 1791 Poplar Grove Rd., Henning. WINNERS of the annual 4-H State Piggy Bank Pageant in- clude, in upper photo, the bank of Abby Rose, first place, pre-k through first grade division, and in lower photo, Jordon Lee Younger’s bank, third place, 2nd through 3rd grade division.
