The breakthrough is as a result of proactive policing, which resulted in Verulam police of- ficers stopping a vehicle with four occupants. The vehicle and occupants were searched and they were found in posses- sion of three unlicensed fire- arms, a police bulletproof vest and handcuffs. The vehicle is suspected to be used in various crimes in the area. Police spokesper- son, Brigadier Jay Naicker, said, “The suspects were pro- filed by police and they were linked to a number of cases in the area, including house rob- beries, business robberies and attempted murders. He added that the suspects were remanded into custody whilst the investigation into their involvement in other crimes are ongoing. However, she did not let this put out the fire in her belly and after a grueling recovery she made her return to the national side in their T20 series clash against Bangladesh. “Coming out of an injury that set me back for over a year was one of the tough- est challenges I’ve ever faced in my career but it has also made me stronger physically and mentally. Recently I got to play in the Bang- ladesh Emerging tour and it was just amazing to be back on the field with the girls. Com- ing back, I just wanted to be as positive as I could be in every situ- ation and to contribute to us winning as much as I could", said Chetty. Chetty played a vital role in their serie’s win, scoring an impressive 72 runs off just 59 balls in their last match, proving that she's still one of South Africa's best. Looking towards the rest of 2019, Chetty says that her focus will be on cementing her place in the Protea lineup and improve the consistency of her per- formances.

Police at Verulam made a breakthrough when they linked fi ve arrested suspects to various serious and violent crimes at Canelands, Cotton-lands and oThongathi.
