Cumberland Soil and Water District Chairman Bob White Nominated to Run for State Commission FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District Chairman Robert “Bob” White has been selected by the Area 7 Association of Soil and Water Conserva- tion Districts to be the nominee for the North Carolina Soil and Water Commission’s Piedmont Seat. The Piedmont Seat representative is selected from Areas 3, 4 and 7 and will be elected at the association’s annual meeting in January. Area 7 is made up of Cumberland, Bladen, Colum- bus, Harnett, Hoke, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson and Scotland counties. White has been an active supervisor on the Cumberland SWCD board since 2006. He has served as the Area 7 delegate to the association’s Water Resources Standing Committee for four years. White retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He earned bachelor’s degrees in business and education from Fayetteville State University and also has a master’s de- gree in finance and management. “In this world of environmental and climatic changes, I be- lieve we need people who will safeguard our environmental fu- ture, preserve our agriculture power, protect the quality and quan- tity of water and ensure we have clean air to breathe,” White said. “I think my nomination shows a lot of confidence in my ability in the soil and water community.” The mission of Cumberland Soil and Water Conservation District is to take available technical, financial, and educational resources and administer programs designed to encourage indi- vidual responsibility to conserve, improve, and sustain our soil and water resources for future generations. Cumberland Soil and Water District Chairman Bob White Nominated to Run for State Commission

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Cumberland County Soil and WaterConservation District Chairman Robert “Bob” White has beenselected by the Area 7 Association of Soil and Water Conserva-tion Districts to be the nominee for the North Carolina Soil andWater Commission’s Piedmont Seat.

The Piedmont Seat representative is selected from Areas3, 4 and 7 and will be elected at the association’s annual meetingin January. Area 7 is made up of Cumberland, Bladen, Colum-bus, Harnett, Hoke, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson and Scotlandcounties.
