The library has this book on our shelves, and books will be available for purchase that evening. Readers Anonymous will dis- cuss David Laskin’s “The Children’s Blizzard” on Nov. 9. This club, which is always open to new members, meets the sec- ond Tuesday of each month, at the library, at 1 p.m. The evening book club meets the third Tuesday of each month, 5:30 p.m., at the library. On Nov. 16, they will discuss Charles Frazier’s “Cold Mountain.” Generous patrons donated 191 cans of soup and 44 pack- ages of crackers during our Food for Fines week. We will collect canned vegetables Nov. 13-21, with all donations going to the Contact Center. Friends of the Library will hold their monthly book sale at 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 6. As always, they continue to accept dona- tions of gently used books to stock their shelves. The Friends’ sale is the first Saturday of each month. The library will be closed on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, and on Nov. 25-26, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. We will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 27 and 1-5 p.m. on Nov. 28. Did you know that in 2009, 51,022 children and teen books were checked out from the library? We are now on Facebook.
