A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR

Dear Holy Apostles Parish Family,

In two weeks we will have our Summer Fiesta. It is a

wonderful event because we cele-

brate so many things: coming to-

gether for the first time in a bilingual

Sunday Mass, the grand opening of

our pavilion, the hard work of our

Spanish-speaking community to

make such wonderful food and

provide a wonderful celebration, the

hard work of our raffle committee to raise funds and

ultimately the joy of the entire parish working together

and coming together to celebrate.

I hope you have penciled in August 12, 10 AM Mass

with Fiesta to follow. I also hope you have sold and

purchased your raffle tickets so we can continue to

maintain our beautiful campus. This year we have

much to be excited about as we grow with our plan to:

have a themed message, greet people with enthusi-

asm at Mass and this year begin evangelizing in small

groups. I hope you will find this to be helpful in your

relationship with God.

Have a Blessed Week! Father Paul

SVdPS Helps People in Need Most of us have probably experienced a time when we

realized we really needed to get to the grocery store and

restock the fridge and pantry. And

most of us are fortunate to be able

to shop for the necessities we need

on a regular basis. Some in our

community aren't as fortunate, lack-

ing the resources to purchase food

and basic toiletries. Vincentians have visited members of

our community who truly have no food to eat, who have

no shampoo or even bathroom tissue. For those individu-

als, a visit from SVdPS means a delivery of desperately

needed food and toiletries, an opportunity to offer a pray-

er of thanksgiving and the chance to regain their dignity.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD,

plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future

and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11

WIN—WIN—WIN! Something for everyone!

All money raised will help us maintain

our beautiful church and

campus.

Prize winning tickets will be drawn at our

Summer Fiesta on August 12!

See the Gift Baskets and buy any of the Raffle tickets after

Mass or the Parish Office!

Grief Support at Catholic Charities Have you or a loved one experienced a recent loss in

your life? Perhaps you are grieving a death, going

through or recently been divorced, working through

unemployment or finding your family size changing as

your children grow. Grief occurs throughout our lives

as we encounter losses and sometimes it helps to

share our feelings, as this strengthens the Body of

Christ. Catholic Charities has an ongoing support

group that meets on Tuesday mornings at 10 AM at

5141 W. Bull Valley Rd. (small building on Holy

Apostles campus) The group is led by a therapist and

trained facilitator. There is a $5 weekly charge and

refreshments are served. No registration is necessary. If

you have any questions, call the Catholic Charities of-

fice at 815-344-6956.

¿Qué reacción tomamos frente a dichas nece-

sidades?

(Mateo 7:12).
