We are discovering a new paradigm for integrating the ancient healing arts with the medical model to more effec- tively assist patients recover from seri- ous physical and emotional illness. Thousands of nurses across the country are choosing advanced energy healing programs to enhance their medical background to help others heal physically, emotionally, intellectu- ally and spiritually. Nurses are seeking post graduate training in acupuncture, Reiki, Healing Touch, working with essential oils and other modalities that satisfy a calling to heal pain and suffer- ing, not just “cure disease.” As the field of medicine has begun researching the effectiveness of energy healing techniques and applying scien- tific knowledge to understand energy anatomy, it has discovered there is a structure for universal healing energy. Applying recently discovered prin- ciples from the field of quantum phys- ics has led to better understanding the relationship between energy and physical matter. In addition, having more access to metaphysical teachings related to the ancient sacred healing arts has allowed us to “rediscover” that many of these energetic principles were well understood by teachers and healers thousands of years ago. The biggest challenge for the sci- entific and medical fields is to accept that the source for all energy and mat- ter originates from the consciousness of the Creator. This energy thought consciousness descends through the cosmos, to the universe, the Sun, the planet and the human energy body, which creates the physical body. The vehicle for this creative energy is thought consciousness. Some scientists have determined that the model for this holographic energy structure takes the form of a Divine energy matrix. We also know from the ancient sacred teachings that this energy con- sciousness includes both the power of destruction as well as the power of cre- ation. Those practitioners who accept the calling to become a safe conduit for healing energy must be trained to understand they are working with the power to both heal and harm. My experience in teaching advanced energy healing for over 10 years has allowed me access to many advanced energy healing programs. I have learned that most programs teach technique and focus on a specific heal- ing modality. Very few incorporate objectives related to understanding the origins of universal healing energy, or how to develop the inner discipline required to safely work with healing energy. It is impossible for energy healing practitioners to stay physically and emotionally healthy without daily self-protection. Advanced energy healing programs have a responsibility to incorporate not only the structure for universal energy, but also to teach the importance for practitioners to establish a daily pro- gram for energy self-care. This daily self-care prepares the practitioner to be a clear conduit for powerful healing energy. Practitioners must learn to pro- tect themselves, and their clients, from harmful destructive energies. The path to healing the body, mind and spirit is often long and difficult, for both the healer and client. It is wise for the practitioner to understand the axiom, “healer heal thyself” as it intimately applies to those who accept the responsibility to do advanced heal- ing work. Energy healing is not for the “faint of heart.” The healing process must be understood not only from the scientific perspective, but as a sacred privilege based on the Divine origin of healing energy. Practitioners have the responsibil- ity to choose training programs that teach them how to practice safely. They must also make a commitment to respect the spiritual power inher- ent in working with both the powers of creation and destruction. Personal energetic preparation is a mandatory requirement to do energy healing work. When the daily discipline is acquired to prepare oneself for energy healing, the practitioner becomes a teacher and role model for clients to engage in the healing process as a par- ticipant, not just an observer. By Peig Myota BSN, MSWIt is interesting

to note the trend in the medical field to more thoroughly research and apply scientific standards to ancient sacred healing modalities. We are discovering a new paradigm for

integrating the ancient healing arts with the medical model to more effec-tively assist patients recover from seri-ous physical and emotional illness.

Thousands of nurses across the country are choosing advanced energy healing programs to enhance their medical background to help others heal physically, emotionally, intellectu-ally and spiritually. Nurses are seeking post graduate training in acupuncture, Reiki, Healing Touch, working with essential oils and other modalities that satisfy a calling to heal pain and suffer-

ing, not just “cure disease.”As the field of medicine has begun

researching the effectiveness of energy healing techniques and applying scien-tific knowledge to understand energy anatomy, it has discovered there is a structure for universal healing energy. Applying recently discovered prin-ciples from the field of quantum phys-ics has led to better understanding

the relationship between energy and physical matter. In addition, having more access to metaphysical teachings related to the ancient sacred healing arts has allowed us to “rediscover” that many of these energetic principles were well understood by teachers and healers thousands of years ago.

The biggest challenge for the sci-entific and medical fields is to accept that the source for all energy and mat-ter originates from the consciousness of the Creator.

We also know from the ancient sacred teachings that this energy con-sciousness includes both the power of destruction as well as the power of cre-ation. Those practitioners who accept the calling to become a safe conduit for healing energy must be trained to understand they are working with the power to both heal and harm.

My experience in teaching advanced energy healing for over 10 years has allowed me access to many advanced energy healing programs. I have learned that most programs teach technique and focus on a specific heal-

ing modality. Very few incorporate objectives related to understanding the origins of universal healing energy, or how to develop the inner discipline required to safely work with healing energy. It is impossible for energy healing practitioners to stay physically and emotionally healthy without daily self-protection.

Advanced energy healing programs have a responsibility to incorporate not only the structure for universal energy, but also to teach the importance for practitioners to establish a daily pro-gram for energy self-care. This daily self-care prepares the practitioner to be a clear conduit for powerful healing energy. Practitioners must learn to pro-tect themselves, and their clients, from harmful destructive energies.

The path to healing the body, mind and spirit is often long and difficult, for both the healer and client. It is wise for the practitioner to understand the axiom, “healer heal thyself” as it intimately applies to those who accept the responsibility to do advanced heal-ing work. Energy healing is not for the “faint of heart.” The healing process must be understood not only from the scientific perspective, but as a sacred privilege based on the Divine origin of healing energy.

Practitioners have the responsibil-ity to choose training programs that teach them how to practice safely. They must also make a commitment to respect the spiritual power inher-ent in working with both the powers of creation and destruction. Personal energetic preparation is a mandatory requirement to do energy healing work. When the daily discipline is acquired to prepare oneself for energy healing, the practitioner becomes a teacher and role model for clients to engage in the healing process as a par-ticipant, not just an observer.
