IDENTE MISSIONARIES: Charisma and Mission The Idente charisma is concretized in living and proving our divine filiation, following a Christ under the action of the Holy Spirit. It is based, mainly, on these three evangelical principles: 1) The vocation to holiness, in response to the command "be holy saints as your heavenly Father is holy" (Mt 5:48). 2) The promotion of community life and family spirit, trusting in the promising advice of Jesus Christ: “when two or more are gathered in my name, I am in their midst” (Mt 18, 20). 3) the priority consecration to the evangelizing mission, to which it is totally dedicated, following the apostolic imperative "go throughout the world and proclaiming the Good News to all creation" (Mk 16, 15).

The essence of the mission is filial holiness that consists in total availability to the grace of the Holy Spirit.

El carisma Idente se concreta en vivir y testificar nuestra filiación divina, siguiendo a Cristo bajo la acción del Espíritu Santo. Se asienta, principalmente, sobre estos tres principios evangélicos: 1) La vocación a la santidad, en respuesta al mandato « se santos como vuestro Padre Celestial es Santo»( Mt. 5, 48). 2) La promoción de la vida comunitaria y el espíritu de familia, confiando en el consejo promisorio de Jesucristo: «cuando dos o más están reunidos en mi nombre allí estoy en medio de ellos»(Mt. 18, 20). 3) La prioritaria consagración a la misión evangelizadora, a la que se está totalmente dedicado, siguiendo el imperativo apostólico «Id por todo el mundo y proclamad la Buena Nueva a toda la creación» (Mc 16, 15). La esencia de la misión es la santidad filial que consiste en la total disponibilidad a la gracia del Espíritu Santo.

Saint Thomas More was born in London on February 7, 1478. He was a faithful married man with children and responsible with his job as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. Saint Thomas More published “Utopia”, a philosophical work of fiction primarily depicting a pagan and communist island on which social and political customs are entirely governed by reason. He was a very close friend of the King Henry VIII. The King wanted to divorce and remarry in opposition to the authority of the Pope. The King separated from the church and started the Anglican Church in England with the support of all his ministers. Saint Thomas More preferred to be thrown in jail by the King rather than to separate from the Catholic church and didn’t support the King but remained faithful to the Pope as the first Pope Peter named by Christ. For that reason Saint Thomas More was sent to the Tower of London on April 17, 1534, and was found guilty of treason. He was executed at Tower Hill, 6 July, 1535. He remained a faithful hero and was canonized by the Pope Pius XI as a martyr in 1935. (Recommended movie: The Man of 2 Kingdoms)

Santo Tomás Moro nació en Londres el 7 de febrero del 1478. Fue fiel a su matrimonio con varios hijos y responsable con su trabajo como Canciller del Ducado de Lancaster. Santo Tomás Moro publicó "Utopia", una obra filosófica de ficción que representa principalmente una isla pagana y comunitaria en la que las costumbres sociales y políticas estaban completamente regidas por la razón. Era un amigo muy cercano del rey Enrique VIII. El rey quiso divorciarse y volver a casarse en oposición a la autoridad del Papa. El rey se separó de la iglesia y comenzó la Iglesia Anglicana en Inglaterra con el apoyo de todos sus ministros. Santo Tomás Moro prefirió que el rey lo enviara a la cárcel en lugar de separarse de la iglesia católica y no apoyó al rey, pero se mantuvo fiel al papa como si fuera el primer papa Pedro nombrado por Cristo. Saint John Fisher born in 1469, Beverley, Yorkshire,

England. He was an English humanist and martyr, who, devoted to the pope and to the Roman Catholic church, resisted King Henry VIII of England by refusing to recognize royal supremacy and the abolition of papal jurisdiction over the English church. Fisher believed the king could not be supreme head of the Church of England.

He was tried, condemned for treason, and executed on June 22, 1535 in the Tower Hill. Saint John Fisher remained faithful to the Catholic church as a priest and bishop. He was canonized May 19, 1935.

San Juan Fisher, nacido en 1469, Beverley, Yorkshire, Inglaterra, fue un humanista y mártir inglés que, fiel al papa y a la iglesia católica romana, se resistió apoyar al rey Enrique VIII de Inglaterra al negarse a reconocer la supremacía real y la abolición de la jurisdicción papal sobre la iglesia inglesa. San Juan Fisher defendió que el rey no podía ser jefe supremo de la Iglesia de Inglaterra. Fue juzgado, condenado por traición y ejecutado el 22 de junio de 1535 en la Torre Hill. 138. Develop the habit of giving real importance to the

other person. This means appreciating them and

recognizing their right to exist, to think as they do and to

be happy. Never downplay what they say or think, even if

you need to express your own point of view. Everyone

has something to contribute, because they have their life

experiences, they look at things from a different

standpoint and they have their own concerns, abilities

and insights. We ought to be able to acknowledge the

other person’s truth, the value of his or her deepest

concerns, and what it is that they are trying to

communicate, however aggressively. We have to put

ourselves in their shoes and try to peer into their hearts,

to perceive their deepest concerns and to take them as a

point of departure for further dialogue.

139. Keep an open mind. Don’t get bogged down in your

own limited ideas and opinions, but be prepared to

change or expand them. The combination of two

different ways of thinking can lead to a synthesis that

enriches both. The unity that we seek is not uniformity,

but a “unity in diversity”, or “reconciled diversity”. Fra-

ternal communion is enriched by respect and

appreciation for differences within an overall perspective

that advances the common good. We need to free

ourselves from feeling that we all have to be alike. A

certain astuteness is also needed to prevent the

appearance of “static” that can interfere with the process

of dialogue. For example, if hard feelings start to emerge,

they should be dealt with sensitively, lest they interrupt

the dynamic of dialogue. The ability to say what one is

thinking without offending the other person is

important. Words should be carefully chosen so as not to

offend, especially when discussing difficult issues.

Making a point should never involve venting anger and

inflicting hurt. A patronizing tone only serves to hurt,

ridicule, accuse and offend others. Many disagreements

between couples are not about important things. Mostly

they are about trivial matters. What alters the mood,

however, is the way things are said or the attitude with

which they are said.

138. Desarrollar el hábito de dar importancia real al otro. Se

trata de valorar su persona, de reconocer que tiene derecho a

existir, a pensar de manera autónoma y a ser feliz. Nunca hay

que restarle importancia a lo que diga o reclame, aunque sea

necesario expresar el propio punto de vista. Subyace aquí la

convicción de que todos tienen algo que aportar, porque tienen

otra experiencia de la vida, porque miran desde otro punto de

vista, porque han desarrollado otras preocupaciones y tienen

otras habilidades e intuiciones. Es posible reconocer la verdad

del otro, el valor de sus preocupaciones más hondas y el

trasfondo de lo que dice, incluso detrás de palabras agresivas.

Para ello hay que tratar de ponerse en su lugar e interpretar el

fondo de su corazón, detector lo que le apasiona, y tomar esa

pasión como punto de partida para profundizar en el diálogo.

139. Amplitud mental, para no encerrarse con obsesión en

unas pocas ideas, y flexibilidad para poder modificar o

completar las propias opiniones. Es posible que, de mi

pensamiento y del pensamiento del otro pueda surgir una

nueva síntesis que nos enriquezca a los dos. La unidad a la que

hay que aspirar no es uniformidad, sino una « unidad en la

diversidad », o una « diversidad reconciliada ». En ese estilo

enriquecedor de comunión fraterna, los diferentes se

encuentran, se respetan y se valoran, pero manteniendo

diversos matices y acentos que enriquecen el bien común.

Hace falta liberarse de la obligación de ser iguales. También se

necesita astucia para advertir a tiempo las « interferencias »

que puedan aparecer, de manera que no destruyan un proceso

de diálogo. Por ejemplo, reconocer los malos sentimientos que

vayan surgiendo y relativizarlos para que no perjudiquen la

comunicación. Es importante la capacidad de expresar lo que

uno siente sin lastimar; utilizar un lenguaje y un modo de

hablar que pueda ser más fácilmente aceptado o tolerado por

el otro, aunque el contenido sea exigente; plantear los propios

reclamos pero sin descargar la ira como forma de venganza, y

evitar un lenguaje moralizante que sólo busque agredir,

ironizar, culpar, herir. Muchas discusiones en la pareja no son

por cuestiones muy graves. A veces se trata de cosas pequeñas,

poco trascendentes, pero lo que altera los ánimos es el modo

de decirlas o la actitud que se asume en el diálogo.

More than a Belief

The Church has included in the Office for today the beautiful antiphon inspired by St. Paul: Caritas

Pater est, gratia Filius, communicatio Spiritus Sanctus, O beata Trinitas! the Father is charity, the

Son is grace and the Holy Spirit is communication. That is, the charity of the Father and the grace of

the Son are communicated to us by the Holy Spirit, who diffuses them in our heart.

We should not be afraid of calling the Most Holy Trinity a mystery, provided we

understand what truly a mystery is.

A mystery is something which is not supposed not be solved by the mind. A mystery has to be lived; on

the contrary, a problem is something that has to be solved.

Even in the world of science, mysteries have an essential role. As Neil Armstrong, the first man on the

Moon said, mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand.

The Most Holy Trinity is not a problem, but a mystery. Have you noticed how many times in the Gospels Jesus himself asks questions, rather

than give answers? Pontius Pilate asks Jesus a series of questions and Jesus answers cryptically, as if to say, you are really missing the point.

Our spiritual journey is rather about taking advantage of Jesus’ questions to enter this mystery. When you come to feel that something is a

mystery, you feel reverence and awe. To be so deeply in wonder that you have again become a child is to enter into the mystery and the

kingdom of God.

What is the best way to live this mystery, to experience the Trinity? First, we have to bear in mind that we don’t need to invent paths or

methods; the Divine Persons are always moving closer to us before we move towards them.

What is then the proper and adequate response to Jesus’ claim that the Three Divine Persons will dwell in the soul that is in a state of grace?

Hospitality.

Hospitality for the people in ancient cultures was a sacred duty and visitors were owed all the respect in the world. The spiritual dimension of

hospitality is reflected in the New Testament: Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it

(Heb 13:2). To be hospitable, fully available, is to be open to what is deepest and most unique in the other. This explains Jesus’ words

to his good and generous friends: Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has

chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.

The conflict is not between listening and service, but between listening and service that distracts from listening. Prayer is not opposed to

occupation, but to slavery of sin.

When I meet a person on a train, for instance, he is at first someone in the third person. We talk about the weather, the war, the economy, but I

feel as though I am filling out a questionnaire. However, it can happen that the walls break down, we discover an experience we have both

shared, and a unity is established between the other person and me. He/she ceases to be "someone" and becomes John, Philip or Anne. The

available person is one who is continually, actively open to the possibility of such a relationship.

This clearly holds when we meet the divine persons. To be hospitable is not to passively receive someone. True hospitality is creative in that it

is an opening of oneself to the other, a presence to the other, the gift of oneself. This is the dialogue between the Christian and the Three Divine

Persons.

This was what happened to another woman of the Gospel, Mary Magdalene, who was completely right about what she was supposed to do with

Christ in the Pharisee’s house, because her spiritual hospitality was inspired beyond the cold and formal protocol of the host. She received and

welcomed the Wisdom described in today’s First Reading.

Through the eyes of the divine persons, through their sensitivity, I am able to see possibilities in myself and my situation that I would have not

seen otherwise. In their dialogue with me, Father, Son and Holy Spirit help me to articulate and choose these possibilities. Their stance

towards me is that of appeal; they continuously offer me a point of view which I can accept or reject. This is true inspiration.

An anecdote to highlight our lack of awareness of the constant and ubiquitous divine presence and action in our lives.

A newly appointed professor spent weeks preparing his notes for the course he was going to teach. He had laboriously prepared for it,

and had them carefully written out. On the first day of the academic year the young professor was nervous and, taking the advice of

some colleagues, he took a shot of vodka to calm his nerves.

Well, this first day was his first big one, so he took a second shot, and a third. He went into his bedroom to get dressed and when he

came back to his study, he could not find his notes. He began searching in all the desk drawers and shelves, but it was nowhere in

sight. He searched for a half an hour. Nothing. It was getting close to time for the first class. He knew he could do nothing without the

text. Finally, in desperation he lifted his eyes to heaven and prayed: Lord, help me find my notes. If you do, I will never drink another

drop of vodka again.

When he looked down, there, right in front of him – as if by a miracle – he saw the notes. He lifted his eyes back up to heaven and

said: Oh, never mind my promise, Lord. I found it myself.

This story may seem fun, but is a sad caricature of our poor response to the more or less conspicuous action of the Three Divine Persons.

One of the deepest (but clearly perceptible) forms of our conviviality and life in common with the Trinity are the so-

called Uncial Impressions (Uncial Oil signifies both healing and union with God), because they represent my more or

less incipient or intense identification with some of the divine persons.

Sometimes I feel the sonship or filiation, my filial nature, the confidence and mercy of our Heavenly Father; other

times my brotherhood with Christ, my desire of imitating Him presides over my spiritual life. Finally, in some

moments I experience the friendship of the Holy Spirit, his permanent assistance and the fulfillment of the promise

of Jesus when He announced that the Holy Spirit will remind you of all that I have said to you (Jn 14:26).

It is so beautiful that we can talk to God as our loving Father. That we can walk with Jesus as our brother. And that we can live by the light and

the gifts of their Spirit of love.

Mary was the first person in whom the Trinity came to dwell when the Father asked her to become the Mother of his Son by the power of their

Holy Spirit. She was hospitable beyond any foreseeable limit.

A few days ago we celebrated the feast of the Visitation of Mary. An important remark which I feel is relevant today: Mary’s intention in visiting

her cousin was generous and exemplary, but the presence in her of the Most Holy Trinity became noticeable to all and yielded extraordinary

and unpredictable results.

After being overshadowed by the Holy Spirit when she conceived Jesus, Mary set out and went as quickly as she could into Zechariah’s house

and greeted Elizabeth. Now as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth felt the blessed presence of

Jesus and she was filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ presence in the womb of Mary brought joy and confidence to Elizabeth and to John the

Baptist as well.

Of course, the case of Mary is truly unique, but it makes us understand that how we perceive God’s love is how we will love to each other.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit are not only role models to imitate, but they operate in and with us.

We want to be comforted by easy answers, but God invites us to enter in the mystery of who He is. May we learn to be more content with the

active and challenging presence of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit than with the answers we somehow demand. May we allow the

wonder of God guide us.

St Paul summed up this experience when he described the love of God in his Trinitarian greeting: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the

love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. This is the portrait of the Christian experience of God’s love and

mercy through our Jesus Christ made present in the Holy Spirit, especially in the fellowship of the Christian community.

You can only give what you have received. This is why Jesus tells us that the greatest commandments are these: The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel:

The Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and

with all your strength. ‘The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these (Mt

12: 37-40).

The concept and the experience of God as Trinity therefore reveals to us the key to true spiritual joy, which is the love of God manifested in our

love for others, a love that is in imitation of the Blessed Trinity, a love that is mutually giving, caring, and confirming.

The Readings today show us the beautiful truth of our faith, the Holy Trinity.

One way to think about it is that we all make the Sign of the Cross every time we pray. We touch our head and we say, In the name of the

Father, because he is the first person of the Trinity and our Creator. Then we touch our hearts and we say, and of the Son. This reminds us that

God the Son proceeds from the Father and came down from heaven to the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then we touch our shoulders,

moving from left to right as we say, and of the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son; and in his love, the

Spirit fills us, body and soul, with the life of God.

Más que una creencia

La Iglesia ha incluido en la liturgia de hoy la hermosa antífona inspirada en San Pablo: Caritas Pater est,

gratia Filius, comunicatio, Spiritus Sanctus, ¡Oh, Beata Trinitas! El Padre es caridad, el Hijo es gracia y el

Espíritu Santo es comunicación. Es decir, la caridad del Padre y la gracia del Hijo nos son comunicadas por

el Espíritu Santo, quien las irradia en nuestro corazón.

No deberíamos tener miedo de llamar “misterio” a la Santísima Trinidad, siempre que

entendamos lo que realmente es un misterio.

Un misterio es algo que no es para ser resuelto por la mente. Un misterio es para ser vivido; por el contrario,

un problema es algo que hay que resolver.

Incluso en el mundo de la ciencia, los misterios tienen un papel esencial. Como dijo Neil Armstrong, el

primer hombre que pisó la Luna, el misterio produce asombro y el asombro es la base del deseo de

comprender que tiene el ser humano.

La Santísima Trinidad no es un problema, sino un misterio. ¿Hemos observado cuántas veces Cristo en el Evangelio hace preguntas, en lugar

de dar respuestas? Poncio Pilato le hace a Jesús una serie de preguntas y Él responde de manera críptica, como si dijera que realmente no está

entendiendo nada. Nuestro camino espiritual consiste más bien en aprovechar las preguntas de Jesús para entrar en este misterio. Cuando

estamos convencidos de que algo es un misterio, sentimos reverencia y asombro. Quien está tan maravillado que se hace nuevamente como un

niño, está entrando en el misterio y en el reino de Dios.

¿Cuál es la mejor manera de vivir este misterio, de experimentar la Trinidad? Primero, debemos tener en cuenta que no necesitamos inventar

caminos o métodos; Las Personas Divinas siempre se están acercando a nosotros antes de que nosotros nos movamos hacia ellas.

¿Cuál es entonces la respuesta adecuada y adecuada a la afirmación de Jesús de que las Tres Personas Divinas morarán en el alma que está en

estado de gracia?

La Hospitalidad.

La hospitalidad, para los pueblos y las culturas antiguas, era un deber sagrado y a los visitantes se les debía todo el respeto del mundo. La

dimensión espiritual de la hospitalidad se refleja en el Nuevo Testamento: No se olviden de mostrar hospitalidad, porque por ella algunos, sin

saberlo, hospedaron ángeles (Heb 13: 2). Ser hospitalario, ser completamente disponible, es estar abierto a lo más profundo y único en

el otro. Esto explica las palabras de Jesús a sus buenas y generosas amigas: Marta, Marta, estás preocupada y angustiada por muchas cosas,

pero sólo una cosa es necesaria. María ha elegido lo que es mejor, y no le será quitado.

El conflicto no se da entre la escucha y el servicio, sino entre la escucha y el servicio que distrae la atención de nuestra escucha. La oración no

se opone a estar ocupado, sino a la esclavitud del pecado.

Por ejemplo, cuando me encuentro con una persona en un tren, al principio es alguien “en tercera persona”. Hablamos sobre el clima, la

guerra, la economía, pero me siento como quien está llenando un cuestionario. Sin embargo, puede suceder que los muros se derrumben,

descubrimos una experiencia que ambos compartimos y se establece una unidad entre la otra persona y yo. Él/ella deja de ser "alguien" y se

convierte en Juan, Felipe o Ana. La persona disponible es la que está continuamente, activamente abierta a la posibilidad de tal relación.

Claramente, esto también se cumple cuando nos relacionamos con las personas divinas. Ser hospitalario no es recibir pasivamente a alguien.

La verdadera hospitalidad es creativa porque es una apertura de uno mismo hacia el otro, una presencia hacia el otro, el don de uno mismo.

Este es el diálogo entre el cristiano y las tres personas divinas.

Esto fue lo que le sucedió a otra mujer del Evangelio, María Magdalena, que acertó plenamente en lo que se suponía que debía hacer a Cristo

en casa del fariseo, porque su hospitalidad espiritual estaba inspirada más allá del protocolo frío y formal del anfitrión. Ella recibió y acogió

con satisfacción la Sabiduría descrita en la Primera Lectura de hoy.

A través de los ojos de las personas divinas, a través de su sensibilidad, puedo ver posibilidades en mí y en mis situaciones que no habría visto

de otra manera. En su diálogo conmigo, el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo me ayudan a articular y elegir estas posibilidades. Su postura hacia

mí es la de una llamada; me ofrecen continuamente un punto de vista que puedo aceptar o rechazar. Esta es la verdadera inspiración.

Una anécdota para resaltar nuestra inconsciencia sobre la constante y ubicua presencia y acción divinas en nuestras vidas.

Un profesor novato pasó varias semanas preparando sus notas para la materia que iba a enseñar. Se había preparado laboriosamente

para ello, y las había escrito con mucho cuidado. El primer día del año académico, el joven profesor estaba nervioso y, siguiendo el

consejo de algunos colegas, tomó un trago de vodka para calmar sus nervios.

Al fin y al cabo, este primer día era su primer gran evento, así que tomó un segundo trago… y un tercero. Entró en su habitación para

vestirse y cuando regresó a su despacho, no pudo encontrar sus notas. Comenzó a buscar en todos los cajones y estantes del escritorio,

pero no encontró sus apuntes. Buscó durante media hora. Nada. Se acercaba el momento de la primera clase. Sabía que no podía hacer

nada sin ese texto. Finalmente, desesperado, levantó los ojos al cielo y oró: Señor, ayúdame a encontrar mis notas. Si lo haces, nunca

más beberé ni una gota de vodka.

Cuando miró hacia abajo, allí, justo delante de él, como por un milagro, vio los apuntes. Levantó los ojos al cielo y dijo: Oh, olvida por

mi promesa, Señor. Los encontré yo mismo.

La historia puede parecer divertida, pero es una triste caricatura de nuestra pobre respuesta a la acción más o menos conspicua de las Tres

Personas Divinas.

Una de las formas más profundas (pero claramente perceptibles) de nuestra convivencia y vida en común con la Trinidad son

las llamadas Impresiones Unciales (El Óleo Uncial significa curación y unión con Dios), porque representan mi

identificación más o menos incipiente o intensa con alguna de las Personas divinas.

A veces siento la filiación, el ser hijo, mi naturaleza filial, la confianza y la misericordia de nuestro Padre Celestial; otras

veces mi hermandad con Cristo, mi deseo de imitarlo, es lo que preside mi vida espiritual. Finalmente, en algunos

momentos, experimento la amistad del Espíritu Santo, su ayuda permanente y el cumplimiento de la promesa de Jesús

cuando anunció que el Espíritu Santo les recordará todo lo que yo les he dicho (Jn 14, 26).

Es tan hermoso que podamos dirigirnos a Dios como nuestro Padre amante. Que podamos caminar con Jesús como nuestro hermano. Y que

podamos vivir con la luz y los dones de su Espíritu de amor.

María fue la primera persona en la que la Trinidad vino a morar, cuando el Padre le pidió que fuera la Madre de su Hijo, por el poder de su

Espíritu Santo. Ella sí fue hospitalaria, más allá de cualquier límite previsible.

Hace unos días celebramos la fiesta de la Visitación de María. Una observación importante que considero relevante hoy: la intención de María

de visitar a su prima fue generosa y ejemplar, pero la presencia en ella de la Santísima Trinidad se hizo evidente para todos y produjo

resultados extraordinarios e imprevisibles.

Tras ser cubierta por el Espíritu Santo al concebir a Jesús, María partió y fue lo antes que pudo a casa de Zacarías para saludar a Isabel.

Entonces, tan pronto como Isabel escuchó el saludo de María, el niño saltó en su vientre e Isabel sintió la bendita presencia de Jesús y se llenó

del Espíritu Santo. La presencia de Cristo en el vientre de María trajo alegría y confianza a Isabel y también a Juan Bautista.

Por supuesto, el caso de María es verdaderamente único, pero nos hace comprender que la forma en que percibimos el amor de Dios será la

forma en que nos amemos unos a otros. Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo no son solo modelos a imitar, sino que operan en y con

nosotros.

Queremos ser consolados con respuestas fáciles, pero Dios nos invita a entrar en el misterio de quién es Él. Aprendamos a estar más

satisfechos con la presencia activa y provocadora del Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo que con las respuestas que de alguna manera exigimos.

Permitamos siempre que nos guíe la sorpresa de Dios.

San Pablo resumió esta experiencia cuando describió el amor de Dios en su saludo trinitario: Que la gracia de Nuestro Señor

Jesucristo, el amor de Dios y la comunión del Espíritu Santo estén con todos ustedes. Este es el retrato de la experiencia

cristiana del amor y la misericordia de Dios a través de Jesucristo, hecho presente en el Espíritu Santo, especialmente en la fraternidad de la

comunidad cristiana.

Sólo podemos dar lo que hemos recibido. Es por eso que Jesús nos dice que los mandamientos más grandes son estos: Amarás al Señor tu

Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con toda tu mente. Este es el más grande y primer mandamiento. Y el segundo es semejante a

éste: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. De estos dos mandamientos dependen toda la Ley y los Profetas (Mt 22: 37-40).

El concepto y la experiencia que tengamos de Dios como Trinidad, nos revelan la clave del verdadero gozo espiritual, que es el amor de Dios

manifestado en nuestro amor por los demás, un amor que es imitación de la Santísima Trinidad, un amor que se manifiesta en la donación

mutua, en el cuidado y en la confirmación del otro.

Las Lecturas de hoy nos muestran la hermosa verdad de nuestra fe, la Santísima Trinidad.

Una manera de tenerlo presente es que todos hacemos la Señal de la Cruz cada vez que oramos. Tocamos la frente y decimos: En el nombre del

Padre, porque Él es la primera persona de la Trinidad y nuestro Creador. Después tocamos nuestro corazón añadiendo, Y del Hijo. Esto nos

recuerda que Dios el Hijo procede del Padre y bajó del cielo al vientre de la Santísima Virgen María. Luego tocamos nuestros hombros,

moviendo la mano de izquierda a derecha mientras decimos, Y del Espíritu Santo, porque el Espíritu Santo procede del Padre y del Hijo; y en

su amor, el Espíritu nos llena, en cuerpo y alma, con la vida divina.
