Three Richmond companies out of 34 Virginia firms are on the list: Glen Allen-based Robinson Radio came in at No. 97 with 2008 revenue of $10.2 million. That’s up 1,609% from 2005 when they brought in $569,059. The company is a radio only advertising firm, and ranked tenth among advertising firms on the list Packet360, also of Glen Allen, comes in at No. 164. Packet360 had revenue of $25.6 million, according to Inc., which is up 1,147%. The company’s website says the firm installs phone systems and wireless networks for businesses and governments. No. 240 on the list is Logical Innovations, based in Richmond. The company had revenue of $7.5 million, which is up 894%. According to their Inc. profile the company provides building automation and security monitoring services. (As of July 31 the Richmond office of Logical Innovations has shut down, BizSense is still awaiting word from the company as to why. The company has a second office in Jeffersonville, Indiana.) Three Richmond companies made the Inc.500 list

If the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies is any guide, then Virginia’sbusiness growth is in Northern Virginia, and in the IT and governmentcontracting businesses.

Three Richmond companies out of 34 Virginia firms are on the list:

Glen Allen-based Robinson Radio came in at No. 97 with 2008 revenue of$10.2 million. That’s up 1,609% from 2005 when they brought in $569,059.

The company is a radio only advertising firm, and ranked tenth among advertising firms on the list

Packet360, also of Glen Allen, comes in at No. 164. Packet360 had revenue of $25.6 million, according toInc., which is up 1,147%. The company’s website says the firm installs phone systems and wireless networksfor businesses and governments.

No. 240 on the list is Logical Innovations, based in Richmond. The company had revenue of $7.5 million,which is up 894%.

Are we supposed to be surprised that so many government services companies made thelist? Government today is a guaranteed growth industry, and with Obama running theshow its growth rates are astronomical.

Robinson Radio laid off about half of their employees in the office in mid September2009. They also cut all pay 25% right around the time of the inc. 500 announcement. In2008 they also cut several positions.
