Islandaire EZ Series GS is a replacement for the SuburbanDynaline units. Our commercial duty construction with heavygauge galvanized steel and superior components create anefficient reliable unit.This design eliminates the need for anyinterior or exterior renovation. Use of the existing wallsleeve-cabinet and louver saves time and money, two veryimportant factors in today's competitive environment! Ifthe need does occur where the duct kit, sub-base/skirt,wall sleeve-cabinet and/or louver needs to be replaced, wemanufacture these accessories as well. This unit is also usedextensively for new construction projects.

EZ SERIES GSINSTALLATION DATA FOR BLOCK WALL APPLICATION

Provide a packaged terminal electric air conditioning/natural gas heating unit listed in the following specifications.Each unit shall consist of a chassis, wall sleeve, exterior grille,and finished inside wrap around room cabinet. Units shall beU.L. Listed, CSA Approved, AGA Design Certified, and CGADesign Certified. Units shall be manufactured by Islandaire,Inc., or equivalent.

Heating/Cooling Chassis. Shall be a slide-in, plug-inchassis with self-contained refrigerant system consisting of avibration-isolated compressor, separate condenser and evap-orator fan motors, condenser fan and coil, evaporator dualblower and coil, copper refrigerant tubing, operating controlsand positive condensate removal system. Chassis shall beconstructed of heavy gauge commercial quality G-60galvanized steel with baked-on powder coat painted basepan/firewall and stainless steel compressor studs for unsur-passed corrosion resistance.

Refrigeration system is constructed of a vibration-isolated, hermetically sealed, thermally protected rotary com-pressor. Compressors have protection to prevent operationbelow 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Capillary tube refrigerant con-trol sized accordingly to the cooling BTU ratings.

Indoor freeze protection will prevent room from going below50˚ Fahrenheit, is standard.

Refrigerant metering device shall be a capillary tube withcompressor freeze protection.

Air moving system is a dual motor system which consists ofa 4-speed thermally-protected PSC evaporator motoremploying dual forward curved centrifugal blower wheelswhich provide between 280 and 460 CFM depending on unitcapacity, along with a separate 2-speed thermally-protectedPSC condenser motor employing an aluminum propeller-typefan blade providing 600 CFM.A draw-through condenser air-flow design for ease of maintenance.

Tubular heat exchanger with integral flame spreaders con-structed of welded commercial quality stainless steel locatedwithin the indoor air stream as not to be visible or accessiblethrough the indoor discharge air grill or return air area of theunit. Sealed combustion air blower, combustion chamber andheat exchanger which uses only outdoor air in the combus-tion process.

Electronically controlled combination pressure regulator andgas valve, pilotless hot ceramic, flame sensing ignition system,which is thermostatically controlled by the indoor room tem-perature in the heating cycle.

Unit mounted electronic controls providing OFF, HI FAN,LO FAN, HI HEAT, LO HEAT, HI COOL and LO COOL.

All chassis parts shall be constructed of commercial grade gal-vanized steel and the firewall base pan shall be constructedof galv-anneal steel with a powdered-coated paint for maxi-mum corrosion-resistance.

Air filtration shall be accomplished with a permanent wash-able aluminum mesh filter which is accessible without the useof tools.

Factory installed electronically controlled hot ceramic ignitionsystem. Sealed combustion chamber ensures no room air isused.Heat exchanger shall be of BTU/H capacity shown in thegeneral specifications. Heat exchanger shall not be visible oraccessible through the indoor room cabinet discharge grille.

Condenser and evaporator coils shall be crosshatched cop-per tubes and faceted aluminum plate fins mechanicallyexpanded into the tubes for maximum heat transfer and max-imized energy efficiency.

Indoor cooling condensate shall drain to the outdoor coil forre-evaporation.Vaporized condensate shall be exhausted outthrough the exterior louver.

Combustion Air blower shall be a zinc die cast housing.

Room Cabinet. Each chassis shall be equipped with an 18-gauge powder coated galv-anneal steel wraparound frontsloped room cabinet.

Wall Sleeve. Shall be of a single piece design with noassembly required, constructed of 18-gauge galv-anneal steelwith a baked-on powder coat finish. At no time should anyfastener be used through the base pan of the wall sleeve as toprotect the water integrity of the assembly.

Exterior Grille. Shall be easily installed from insideof the building after the wall sleeve is set in place. Exteriorgrilles/louvers supplied by others must be approved as to freearea and design by air conditioner manufacturer and shallhave a free area of 537 square inches.

Natural Gas. Unit is designed to operate on natural gaswith a minimum gas inlet pressure of 5.5" W.C., and a maxi-mum of 13.5"W.C. Gas supply connection may be made fromthe inside or outside, depending on local code or designrequirements.

Approvals. Gas-fired PTAC unit shall be U.L. Listed, CSAApproved, AGA Design Certified, and CGA DesignedCertified.

Warranty. Shall be one year limited, full parts and laborwarranty and a limited five-year warranty on the compressorand heat exchanger.
