Invitation To Bidders Packaged Rooftop Unit/Outdoor Air Handling Unit No. 2 (RTU-2) Replacement 2021 Sealed proposals will be received by the Lower Allen Township Board of Commissioners at the Township Municipal Building, 2233 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA until 4:00 P.M. on Monday March 8, 2021, and will be publicly opened at 6:00 P.M. or shortly thereafter. Bids may be awarded at this meeting or at a subsequent meeting for the following contract: Replacement of RTU-2, at the Municipal Services Center, 2233 Gettysburg Road. All work to be completed by August 13, 2021.

Proposals must be submitted upon forms furnished by the Board of Commissioners and must be accompanied by certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to Lower Allen Township. Instructions, Specifications, and Bid Forms may be obtained at the office of Township Manager, at the Township Municipal Building at the above address from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., prevailing time, Monday through Friday, except Holidays, and on the Township website for no cost at www.latwp.org. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates will apply to the project. The Lower Allen Township Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any defects or irregularities in the best interest of the Township. CAMP HILL, PA 17011 Packaged Rooftop Unit/Outdoor Air Handling Unit No. 2 (RTU-2) Replacement 2021 Complete replacement of existing unit with a new unit, including furnishing and installing equipment, and removal and disposal of existing unit. All work to be completed by August 13, 2021.

INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS

1. All bids must be made upon a form supplied by Lower Allen Township, (“Township”) and filed at the office of the Township Manager, Township Municipal Building, 2233 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011, on or before 4:00 P.M., Monday, March 8, 2021. The bid form shall not be detached from the Instructions to the Bidders and Specifications, but shall be filed intact as received, properly sealed. 2. All bids must give the price proposed, both in words and figures; and must be signed by the Bidder with full name and address and, where a partnership, the name and address of each partner in full; if a corporation, the place where chartered. 3. The Bidder agrees that any estimates of required quantities as stated in the Specifications, or at any other time, are only to provide a uniform basis for comparison of bids and are not represented to be accurate. Such estimates shall not be considered binding feature of any Contract nor in any other way to determine any liability against Lower Allen Township. 4. The Contractor proposes to furnish and install all materials and to do and perform all work on the project as more specifically set forth in the Contract Documents, in accordance with the drawings and specifications on file at the office of the Township Manager, address as stated above, Lower Allen Township, as well as the supplements and special requirements contained or referenced herein and/or attached hereto. 5. The Board of Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids, to accept or reject any part of any bid; to waive informalities and minor irregularities in the bids; and to annul any contract if, in its opinion, there shall be a failure at any time to perform faithfully any of its terms. 6. Bids which contain erasures, alterations, conditional bids, omissions or irregularities may be rejected as informal. 7. The Bidder agrees, if successful, to execute a contract within ten (10) days after the award and to furnish such bonds as may be required in the Specifications. No contract may be assigned, either in whole or in part, without the prior written approval of the Board of Commissioners. 8. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10) of the Bid. In the event any Bidder shall, upon the award of the Contract to him, fail to comply with the requirements hereinafter stated as to Performance Bond, Bid Bond or Certified check shall be forfeited to Township.

The Bidder hereby certifies that this proposal is made without collusion with any other person, firm or corporation. 11. The Bidder hereby certifies awareness that Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates apply to this contract, and that the attached Wage Rate Determination has been used in preparing this bid. 12. The Bidder will comply with all requirements of the laws and implementing regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and of the United States relating to human relations, equal opportunities and non-discrimination in employment in the performance of the contract. 13. As a precondition to the award of this contract, bidder must submit the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Public Works Employment Verification Form. Any new employee that is hired during the life of the contract, regardless of whether the employee will be working on-site or off-site, shall be verified within five business days of start date. These provisions apply equally to any subcontractor performing work on the project. 14. Upon award, the Bidder will provide Lower Allen Township with a performance bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid price awarded. 15. If the Bidder will hire Sub-Contractors, then upon award the Bidder will provide Lower Allen Township with a payment bond, conditioned upon the full payment to said Sub-Contractors of any obligations incurred by the Bidder to the Sub-Contractor for work performed on the Packaged Rooftop Unit/Outdoor Air Handling Unit No. 2 (RTU-2) Replacement Project 2021, as described herein. The amount of the payment bond shall be one percent (100%) of the bid price awarded. 16. The successful Bidder, (“Contractor”), shall submit certificates or other documentary evidence to the Township for approval, covering Worker’s Compensation Insurance, Public Liability and Property Damages Insurance as well as insurance covering Special Hazards, before any Notice to Proceed is issued by the Township. The Contractor shall take out and maintain during the life of the Contract legally adequate and acceptable Worker’s Compensation Insurance for all his employees employed at the site of the project and in the case where work is sublet the Contractor shall require the Sub-Contractor similarly to provide Worker’s Compensation Insurance for the latter’s employees, unless such employees are covered by the protection afforded by the Contractor. The Contractor shall at all times indemnify and save harmless the Township, its elected and appointed officials, employees, agents, and servants, of and from all claims for Worker’s Compensation which may be made by any of the employees of the Contractor or any of the employees of any Sub-Contractor to whom the Contractor may have let the performance of any part of the work embraced by this contract and the Contractor will appear for and defend the Township against any and all such claims.

The Contractor shall take out and maintain during the life of the Contract such Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance which shall protect the Township, the Contractor and any Sub-Contractors performing work covered by this contract from claims for property damages, as well as claims for damages for personal injury, including wrongful death, which may arise from operation under this Contract, whether such operations be by himself or by any Sub-Contractor directly or indirectly employed on the project. Special hazards (if there is a possibility of such hazards existing in the work completed) shall be covered by rider or riders to the policy or policies. The amount of insurance shall be as follows:

ACCIDENT AND CLAIMS The Contractor shall be held responsible for all accidents and shall indemnify and protect the Township, its elected and appointed officials, employees, agents and servants, from all suits, claims and actions brought against them and all costs for liability to which the Township may be put for any injury or alleged injury to the person or property of another resulting from negligence or carelessness in the performance of work, or in protection of the project site, or from any improper or inferior workmanship, or from inferior materials used in the work. The Contractor shall, daily give written notice, to the Township of all accidents occurring in connection with the project. The Contractor shall also make daily reports to the Insurance Companies listed in the aforementioned section of all said accidents, and to the Department of Labor and Industry, if deemed necessary. DECLARATIONS-NOTICE OF CANCELLATION Policies of Insurance shall not be subject to change, cancellation or renewal refusal until prior written notice has been sent by certified mail to the Named Insured and certificate holders. Said written notice shall be received not less than thirty) (30) days prior to the effective date of the change, refusal to renew,

or cancellation. The other Contractor’s Insurance policy/policies must meet or exceed the types and limits of insurance as found in this Contract. 17. This bid document includes: Cover Sheet, Invitation to Bidder, Instructions to Bidder, Technical Specifications, Proposal, Bid Bond and Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rate Determination.

A. GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Submit for review and approval a plan to access the work area, deliver and store new material and remove existing material.

2. Contractor should be aware that there are unique conditions for access to the site and access within the building due to the public safety/security functions of the building.

3. Protect Township property from damage while performing the contract, and accept financial

responsibility for all damage caused by the performance of the work.

4. Maintain job site safety.

5. Assure proper workmanship, supervision and job quality by providing only properly trained workers and supervisors, and by strict compliance with all manufacturer’s specifications and published instructions.

6. Notify the Township at least 48 hours prior to starting work.

7. Obtain construction permit before starting work, and maintain code compliance throughout

performance of the contract. The Township will waive the permit fee, however the contractor is responsible for complying with Workers Compensation Verification requirements.

B. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Part 1 - General

1.01 Prevailing Wage Rates Prevailing wage rates consisting of wages and supplemental benefits are set by law; all workers on this project must be paid accordingly and wage rates must be posted at the work site. Project shall be conducted in conformance with applicable labor laws in State of Pennsylvania.

1.02 General Description

a. This section includes the design, controls and installation requirements for packaged rooftop units / outdoor air handling units.

1.03 Quality Assurance

a. Packaged air-cooled condenser units shall be certified in accordance with ANSI/AHRI Standard 340/360 performance rating of commercial and industrial unitary air-condition-ing and heat pump equipment.

b. Unit shall be certified in accordance with UL Standard 1995/CSA C22.2 No. 236, Safety Standard for Heating and Cooling Equipment.

c. Unit and refrigeration system shall comply with ASHRAE 15, Safety Standard for Me-chanical Refrigeration.

d. Unit shall be certified in accordance with ANSI Z21.47b/CSA 2.3b and ANSI Z83.8/CSA 2.6, Safety Standard Gas-Fired Furnaces.

e. Unit Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) shall be equal to or greater than that prescribed by ASHRAE 90.1, Energy Efficient Design of New Buildings except Low-Rise Residential Buildings.

f. Unit shall be safety certified by ETL and ETL US listed. Unit nameplate shall include the ETL/ETL Canada label.

g. Contractor shall be responsible to provide testing and balancing in accordance with Associated Air Balance Council standard requirements and procedures. A Final Balanc-ing Report shall be provided, approved by a Certified Test and Balance Engineer. The cost of this work shall be included in the bid amount.

1.04 Submittals

a. Product Data: Literature shall be provided that indicates dimensions, operating and ship-ping weights, capacities, ratings, fan performance, filter information, factory supplied accessories, electrical characteristics and connection requirements. Installation, Opera-tion, and Maintenance manual with startup requirements shall be provided.

b. Shop Drawings: Unit drawings shall be provided that indicate assembly, unit dimensions, construction details, clearances and connection details. Computer generated fan curves for each fan shall be submitted with specific design operation point noted. Wiring dia-gram shall be provided with details for both power and control systems and differentiate between factory installed and field installed wiring.

1.05 Delivery, Storage, and Handling

a. Unit shall be shipped with doors screwed shut and outside air hood closed to prevent damage during transport and thereafter while in storage awaiting installation.

b. Follow Installation, Operation, and Maintenance manual instructions for rigging, mov-ing, and unloading the unit at its final location.

c. Unit shall be stored in a clean, dry place protected from construction traffic in accordance with the Installation, Operation, and Maintenance manual.

1.06 Warranty

a. Manufacturer shall provide a limited “parts only” warranty for a period of 12 months from the date of equipment startup or 18 months from the date of original equipment shipment from the factory, whichever is less. Warranty shall cover material and work-manship that prove defective, within the specified warranty period, provided manufac-turer’s written instructions for Installation, Operation, and Maintenance have been fol-lowed. Warranty excludes parts associated with routine maintenance, such as belts and filters.

Part 2 - Products

2.01 Manufacturer

a. Products shall be provided by the following manufacturers: i. AAON or approved equal.

ii. Substitute equipment may be considered for approval that includes at a minimum: 1. R-410A refrigerant 2. Variable capacity compressor with 10-100% capacity control 3. Direct drive supply fans 4. Double wall cabinet construction 5. Insulation with a minimum R-value of 13

6. Stainless steel drain pans

2.02 Rooftop Units

a. General Description i. Packaged rooftop unit shall include compressors, evaporator coils, filters, supply

fans, dampers, air-cooled condenser coils, condenser fans, reheat coil, gas heaters, exhaust fans, energy recovery wheels, and unit controls.

ii. Unit shall be factory assembled and tested including leak testing of the DX coils, pressure testing of the refrigeration circuit, and run testing of the completed unit. Run test report shall be supplied with the unit in the service compartment’s litera-ture pocket.

iii. Unit shall have decals and tags to indicate lifting and rigging, service areas and caution areas for safety and to assist service personnel.

iv. Unit components shall be labeled, including refrigeration system components and electrical and controls components.

v. Estimated sound power levels (dB) shall be shown on the unit ratings sheet. vi. Installation, Operation, and Maintenance manual shall be supplied within the unit.

vii. Laminated color-coded wiring diagram shall match factory installed wiring and shall be affixed to the interior of the control compartment’s hinged access door.

viii. Unit nameplate shall be provided in two locations on the unit, affixed to the exterior of the unit and affixed to the interior of the control compartment’s hinged access door.

b. Construction i. All cabinet walls, access doors, and roof shall be fabricated of double wall, im-

pact resistant, rigid polyurethane foam panels. ii. Unit insulation shall have a minimum thermal resistance R-value of 13. Foam in-

sulation shall have a minimum density of 2 pounds/cubic foot and shall be tested in accordance with ASTM D1929-11 for a minimum flash ignition temperature of 610°F.

iii. Unit construction shall be double wall with G90 galvanized steel on both sides and a thermal break. Double wall construction with a thermal break prevents moisture accumulation on the insulation, provides a cleanable interior, prevents heat transfer through the panel, and prevents exterior condensation on the panel.

iv. Unit shall be designed to reduce air leakage and infiltration through the cabinet. Cabinet leakage shall not exceed 1% of total airflow when tested at 3 times the minimum external static pressure provided in AHRI Standard 340/360. Panel de-flection shall not exceed L/240 ratio at 125% of design static pressure, at a maxi-mum 8 inches of positive or negative static pressure, to reduce air leakage. De-flection shall be measured at the midpoint of the panel height and width. Continu-ous sealing shall be included between panels and between access doors and open-ings to reduce air leakage. Piping and electrical conduit through cabinet panels shall include sealing to reduce air leakage.

v. Roof of the air tunnel shall be sloped to provide complete drainage. Cabinet shall have rain break overhangs above access doors.

vi. Access to filters, dampers, cooling coils, reheat coil, heaters, energy recovery wheels, compressors, and electrical and controls components shall be through hinged access doors with quarter turn, zinc cast, lockable handles. Full length stainless steel piano hinges shall be included on the doors.

vii. Exterior paint finish shall be capable of withstanding at least 2,500 hours, with no

visible corrosive effects, when tested in a salt spray and fog atmosphere in ac-cordance with ASTM B 117-95 test procedure.

viii. Units with cooling coils shall include double sloped 304 stainless steel drain pans. ix. Unit shall be provided with base discharge and return air openings. All openings

through the base pan of the unit shall have upturned flanges of at least 1/2 inch in height around the opening.

x. Unit shall include lifting lugs on the top of the unit. xi. Unit base shall be fabricated of 1 inch thick double wall, impact resistant, rigid

polyurethane foam panels. xii. Unit shall include factory wired control panel compartment LED service lights.

c. Electrical i. Unit shall have a 5kAIC SCCR.

ii. Unit shall be provided with factory installed and factory wired, non-fused discon-nect switch.

iii. Unit shall be provided with a factory installed and factory wired 115V, 12 amp GFI outlet disconnect switch in the unit control panel.

d. Supply Fans i. Unit shall include direct drive, unhoused, backward curved, plenum supply fans.

ii. Blowers and motors shall be dynamically balance and mounted on rubber isola-tors.

iii. Motors shall be premium efficiency ODP with ball bearings rated for 200,000 hours service with external lubrication points.

iv. Variable frequency drives shall be factory wired and mounted in the unit. Fan mo-tors shall be premium efficiency.

e. Exhaust Fans i. Exhaust dampers shall be sized for 100% relief.

ii. Fans and motors shall be dynamically balanced. iii. Motors shall be premium efficiency ODP with ball bearings rated for 200,000

hours service with external lubrication points. iv. Access to exhaust fans shall be through double wall, hinged access doors with

quarter turn lockable handles. v. Unit shall include belt driven, unhoused, backward curved, plenum exhaust fans.

vi. Variable frequency drives shall be factory wired and mounted in the unit. Fan mo-tors shall be premium efficiency.

f. Cooling Coils i. Evaporator Coils

1. Coils shall be designed for use with R-410A refrigerant and constructed of copper tubes with aluminum fins mechanically bonded to the tubes and galvanized steel end casings. Fin design shall be sine wave rippled.

2. Coils shall have interlaced circuitry and shall be standard capacity. 3. Coils shall have interlaced circuitry and shall be 6 row high capacity. 4. Coils shall be hydrogen leak tested. 5. Coils shall be furnished with factory installed expansion valves.

g. Refrigeration System

i. Unit shall be factory charged with R-410A refrigerant.

ii. Compressors shall be scroll type with thermal overload protection and carry a 5 year non-prorated warranty, from the date of original equipment shipment from the factory.

iii. Compressors shall be mounted in an isolated service compartment which can be accessed without affecting unit operation. Lockable hinged compressor access doors shall be fabricated of double wall, rigid polyurethane foam injected panels to prevent the transmission of noise outside the cabinet.

iv. Compressors shall be isolated from the base pan with the compressor manufac-turer’s recommended rubber vibration isolators, to reduce any transmission of noise from the compressors into the building area.

v. Each refrigeration circuit shall be equipped with expansion valve type refrigerant flow control.

vi. Each refrigeration circuit shall be equipped with automatic reset low pressure and manual reset high pressure refrigerant safety controls, Schrader type service fit-tings on both the high pressure and low pressure sides and a factory installed liq-uid line filter driers.

vii. Unit shall include a variable capacity scroll compressor on the lead refrigeration circuit which shall be capable of modulation from 10-100% of its capacity.

viii. Lead refrigeration circuit shall be provided with hot gas reheat coil, modulating valves, electronic controller, supply air temperature sensor and a control signal terminal which allow the unit to have a dehumidification mode of operation, which includes supply air temperature control to prevent supply air temperature swings and overcooling of the space.

h. Condensers i. Air-Cooled Condenser

1. Condenser fans shall be a vertical discharge, axial flow, direct drive fans. 2. Coils shall be designed for use with R-410A refrigerant. Coils shall be

multi-pass and fabricated from aluminum microchannel tubes. 3. Coils shall be designed for a minimum of 10°F of refrigerant sub-cooling. 4. Coils shall be hydrogen or helium leak tested. 5. Condenser fans shall be VFD driven variable speed for condenser head

pressure control. Factory provided and factory programmed VFDs shall continuously modulate the fan air flow to maintain head pressure at ac-ceptable levels. Cooling operation shall be allowed down to 35°F with ad-justable compressor lockout.

i. Gas Heating i. Stainless steel heat exchanger furnace shall carry a 25 year non-prorated war-

ranty, from the date of original equipment shipment from the factory. ii. Gas furnace shall consist of stainless steel heat exchangers with multiple concav-

ities, an induced draft blower and an electronic pressure switch to lockout the gas valve until the combustion chamber is purged and combustion airflow is estab-lished.

iii. Furnace shall include a gas ignition system consisting of an electronic igniter to a pilot system, which will be continuous when the heater is operating, but will shut off the pilot when heating is not required.

iv. Unit shall include a single gas connection and have gas supply piping entrances in the unit base for through-the-curb gas piping and in the outside cabinet wall for across the roof gas piping.

v. High Turndown Modulating Natural Gas Furnace shall be equipped with modu-lating gas valves, adjustable speed combustion blowers, stainless steel tubular

heat exchangers, and electronic controller. Combustion blowers and gas valves shall be capable of modulation. Electronic controller includes a factory wired, field installed supply air temperature sensor. Sensor shall be field installed in the supply air ductwork. Supply air temperature setpoint shall be adjustable on the electronic controller within the controls compartment. Gas heater shall be capable of capacity turndown ratio as shown on the unit rating sheet. Heat trace shall be included on the condensate drain.

j. Filters

i. Unit shall include 4 inch thick, pleated panel filters with an ASHRAE MERV rat-ing of 11, upstream of the cooling coil. Unit shall also include 2 inch thick, pleated panel pre filters with an ASHRAE MERV rating of 8, upstream of the 4 inch standard filters.

ii. Unit shall include 1 inch aluminum mesh pre filters upstream of the outside air opening.

iii. Unit shall include a clogged filter switch. iv. Unit shall include a Magnehelic gauge mounted in the controls compartment.

k. Outside Air/Economizer

i. Unit shall include 0-100% economizer consisting of a motor operated outside air damper and return air damper assembly constructed of extruded aluminum, hollow core, airfoil blades with rubber edge seals and aluminum end seals. Damper blades shall be gear driven and designed to have no more than 20 cfm of leakage per sq ft. at 4 in. w.g. air pressure differential across the damper. Low leakage dampers shall be Class 2 AMCA certified, in accordance with AMCA Standard 511. Damper assembly shall be controlled by spring return enthalpy activated fully modulating DDC actuator. Unit shall include outside air opening bird screen, outside air hood, and barometric relief dampers.

l. Energy Recovery

i. Unit shall contain a factory mounted and tested energy recovery wheel. The en-ergy recovery wheel shall be mounted in a rigid frame containing the wheel drive motor, drive belt, wheel seals and bearings. Frame shall slide out for service and removal from the cabinet.

ii. The energy recovery component shall incorporate a rotary wheel in an insulated cassette frame complete with seals, drive motor and drive belt.

iii. The energy recovery cassette shall be an Underwriters Laboratories Recognized Component for electrical and fire safety. The wheel drive motor shall be an Un-derwriters Laboratory Recognized Component and shall be mounted in the cas-sette frame and supplied with a service connector or junction box. Thermal per-formance shall be certified by the manufacturer in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 84, Method of Testing Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers and AHRI Standard 1060, Rating Air-to-Air Energy Recovery Ventilation Equipment. Cassettes shall be listed in the AHRI Certified Products.

iv. Energy recovery wheel cassette shall carry a 5 year non-prorated warranty, from the date of original equipment shipment from the factory. The first 12 months from the date of equipment startup, or 18 months from the date of original equip-ment shipment from the factory, whichever is less, shall be covered under the standard manufacturer’s limited parts warranty. The remaining period of the war-ranty shall be covered by Air xchange. The 5 year warranty applies to all parts

and components of the cassette, with the exception of the motor, which shall carry an 18 month warranty. Warranty shall cover material and workmanship that prove defective, within the specified warranty period, provided the Air xchange written instructions for Installation, Operation, and Maintenance have been followed. Warranty excludes parts associated with routine maintenance, such as belts. Refer to the Air xchange Energy Recovery Cassette Limited Warranty Certificate.

v. Hinged service access doors shall allow access to the wheel. vi. Energy recovery wheel shall include field adjustable mechanical purge. Purge

shall be capable of limiting Exhaust Air Transfer Ratio (EATR) values to less than 1% through proper fan and purge adjustment.

1. Aluminum Energy Recovery Wheels a. Unit shall contain a factory mounted and tested monolithic alumi-

num energy recovery wheel with an inverter duty motor and a steel-enforced drive belt composite. Wheel frame shall be con-structed with prime G90 hot-dip galvanized steel tested for corro-sion resistance of 400 hours of salt spray.

b. Aluminum Energy recovery wheel shall be covered under the standard manufacturer’s limited parts warranty; the first 12 months from the date of equipment startup, or 18 months from the date of original equipment shipment from the factory, whichever is less. Warranty shall cover material and workmanship that prove defective, within the specified warranty period, provided the written instructions for installation, operation and maintenance have been followed. Warranty excludes parts associated with routine maintenance, such as belts.

c. Total energy recovery wheels shall be made of corrugated aluminum with a 3A molecular sieve desiccant coating. Coated segments shall be cleanable with low temperature steam, hot water, or light detergent without degrading the latent recovery.

m. Controls

i. Unit shall be provided without a new controller, but with a standard thermostat terminal strip.

ii. Prior to removal, the existing unit must be available to Township’s maintenance contractor to salvage existing sensors, relays, etc. for reuse.

iii. System shall be an extension of existing Schneider Electric, IA Series, Energy Management System as furnished and installed by NRG Control, Inc. System shall interface with the existing system such that all points are able to be read, written to, scheduled, trended, alarmed, updated and overridden through the exist-ing Schneider Electric system using the existing Schneider Electric software. No additional software shall be acceptable for Unit level controllers.

n. Accessories

i. Unit shall be provided with a smoke detector sensing the return air of the unit, wired to shut off the unit’s control circuit.

ii. Unit shall include a Modular Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (MNBI) Air Purifi-cation System, Global Plasma Solutions GPS-iMOD SNAP or approved equal.

1. Power supply rated for 24V to 240VAC input, with capacity to power up to six bars.

2. Integral BAS alarm contacts and on/off switch.

2.03 Curbs

a. Existing curbs shall be modified as needed to accommodate new equipment. b. Curbs shall be fully gasketed between the curb top and unit bottom with the curb provid-

ing full perimeter support, cross structure support and air seal for the unit. Curb gasket shall be furnished within the control compartment of the rooftop unit to be mounted on the curb immediately before mounting of the rooftop unit.

c. Knockdown curb (with duct support rails) shall be factory furnished for field assembly. d. Solid bottom curb shall be factory assembled and fully lined with curb rated 1 inch fiber-

glass insulation and include a wood nailer strip. (Curb shall be adjustable up to 3/4 inch per foot to allow for sloped roof applications.)

Part 3 - Execution

3.01 Installation, Operation, and Maintenance

a. Installation, Operation, and Maintenance manual shall be supplied with the unit. b. Installing contractor shall install unit, including field installed components, in accordance

with Installation, Operation, and Maintenance manual instructions. c. Start up and maintenance requirements shall be complied with to ensure safe and correct

operation of the unit.

3.02 Disposal

a. Remove and dispose of existing roof top unit, and related appurtenances that are no longer needed.

b. Remove demolition debris to designated disposal area promptly. Do not store or burn materials on site.

c. Dispose of materials in accordance with all applicable State and Federal regulations, and any other authority having jurisdiction.

The Bidder has completely examined and thoroughly understands the Contract Documents, is satisfied with the accuracy of said Documents and is fully aware of any and all governing Federal, State, and Local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. By submission of this Bid, each Bidder certifies and in the case of a joint bid, each party thereto certifies as to his own organization, that this Bid has been arrived at independently, without consultation, communications, or agreement as to any other bidder or with any competitor.
