P5 – Connect Hardware safely to a Computer System

First we looked to see how much RAM the computer already had.
Second we replaced the RAM to add more memory. Always wear a anti-static wristbands to avoid
shocking yourself when handling the internal parts of the Computer
This shows that we have added more memory to the computer.
This picture also proves that we have installed more RAM to the computer.
This is a Test for the RAM after we installed it.
We now started to install the Linksys Wireless Adapter
We then followed the setup wizard to install the Wireless adapter.
We now read the Software License Agreement and then proceeded with our installation.
We now power down the computer and then connected the adapter to the internals of the computer, always wear Anti-
static gear to protect yourself from being shocked.
Next we installed a wireless NIC to be able to connect wirelessly to Networks, again always wear anti-static
wristband use an anti-static mat.
Here is the Wireless NIC now installed.
This picture shows the connector which is where the Wireless NIC will be installed.

The green light shows that the Wireless NIC in functional.
We then powered back up and entered the IP Address into the internet. This then brought up the Router settings in
which we changed the name, pre-shared key and security.
Here we changed to security to a more secure security mode and changed the Pre-shared Key.
This is the before picture of when we changed to Name of the adapter.
This picture shows we have changed the name of the Adapter.
We went to device manager to check if the Linksys Wireless Adapter was locating.
This picture shows we have added a security mode and a password for the Wireless Adapter.
This picture shows we now have a full wireless connection to the internet.
We now perform a full backup to backup all files and settings.
