P3b - Week beginning Monday 15th June 2020 (15/6/20) Can you practice writing the long date every day, just like I’ve done here?
Buenos días P3b! I hope you are all healthy and well! I have been enjoying some of the nice weather and have been spending lots of time outside. I went for a lovely walk around Arthur’s Seat and have enjoyed lots of ice cream.
I hope you enjoy your home learning this week. I love hearing all about how you are getting on. You can send me an email via the school admin email address to show me some of your work, let me know what you have been doing or even just to say hello! The school admin address is [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you. Here is your work for this week. Literacy: Reading Comprehension: Spend 30 minutes completing activities on Read Theory. Remember you should read the passages and answer the questions without help. Reading for enjoyment: Read your favourite book then have a think about the main character of that book. You can also read some more books on epic. Remember you need to use the online version not the app.
Log on to Oxford Owls. Read the book assigned to your group by clicking on the ebooks section of the website then do the activities that go with that book.

Word of the Week: glimpse Can you use the word glimpse in a sentence? Listening for information: Ask someone at home to describe some 2d shapes to you and see if you can draw the shapes. You could create some shape pictures by using squares, circles, triangles, rectangles etc.
Writing: This week we are going to write a letter to our new teacher. Remember to include lots of fun facts about you and what you are looking forward to doing once you are back in school in August. Leave a space for your teachers name and you can add it in once you find out who your new teacher will be. Have a look at the example on the next page to remind you of all the things you need to include in your letter. Remember to include capital letters, punctuation (. ! ?), finger spaces and neat cursive handwriting!
Spelling: This week we are learning about the -nt sound at the end of a word! Practise spelling these words using the look, say, cover, write and check method. nt

Health and Wellbeing – Building Resilience You were using what you have learned so far to help you with your home learning task last week. You can check out the video here

You completed the family activity last week
so this week you need to make your own
toolkit treasure chest, to fill with your own
things and ideas that will help you when you
come face to face with one of life’s challenges.
