The harvest festival of Kerala ìOnamî will be cele-brated by Nair Service Society (NSS) Kuwait onSeptember 27 (Friday), at Carmel School, Khaitanfrom 9:30 am. Nair Service Society (NSS) Kuwait is one ofthe largest Socio-Cultural Organization in Kuwaitformed in the year 2001 and now has more than 4000Indians as members. On September 27, a full day varietyentertainment program depicting the rich heritage andart forms of Kerala has been planned and the majorattractions are musical drama ìNavarasa in Krishnarasaîa unique art form and ìChendamelamî, organizing byNSS Vanitha Samajam. A photowalk in Kuwait on Oct 5th
Aphotowalk is more like a social photographyevent where photographers gather in a spot,take photos for an hour or two then maybemeet up at a restaurant after that. Scott Kelby’sworldwide photowalk never took place in Kuwaituntil now. Kuwait’s photowalk will be held onOctober 5th at Souk Al-Mubarakiya at 10am. Issue of online visa by Indian embassy
Foreigners requiring visas for India need to applyit online from 16th June 2013. Applicants maylog on to the Public portal at www.indian-visaonline.gov.in. After successful online submis-sion, the hard copy, so generated, has to be signedby the applicant and submitted with supporting doc-uments in accordance with the type of visa alongwith the applicable fee in cash at any of the two out-source centres at Sharq or Fahaheel. It is essentialthat applicants fill in their personal details as exactlyavailable in their passports. Mismatch of any of thepersonal details would lead to non-acceptance of theapplication. Fees once paid are non-refundable. Allchildren would have to obtain separate visa on theirrespective passports.
Indian Embassy sets up helpline
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait has set uphelpline in order to assist Indian expatriates inregistering any complaint regarding the gov-ernment’s ongoing campaign to stamp out illegalresidents from the country. The embassy said in pressrelease yesterday that it amended its previous state-ment and stated if there is any complaint, the samecould be conveyed at the following (as amended):Operations Department, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait.Fax: 22435580, Tel: 24768146/25200334. It said theembassy has been in regular contact with localauthorities regarding the ongoing checking of expa-triates. The embassy has also conveyed to them theconcerns, fears and apprehensions of the communityin this regard. The authorities in Kuwait have con-veyed that strict instructions have been issued toensure that there is no harassment or improper treat-ment of expatriates by those undertaking checking.“The embassy would like to request Indian expatri-ates to ensure that they abide by all local laws, rulesand regulations regarding residency, traffic and othermatters,” the release read. It would be prudent toalways carry the Civil ID and other relevant docu-ments such as driving license, etc. In case an Indianexpatriate encounters any improper treatment dur-ing checking, it may be conveyed immediately withfull details and contact particulars to the embassy atthe following phone number 67623639.
