Early Identification
The child can receive treatment before his/her condition gets severe.
The younger they are, the more we can do to make a difference in their learning progress
Helps educators understand the different needs of a student with SEN to provide better support in class.

Assessment for Primary 2
Shorter assessments
More and richer feedback
Appropriate modes of assessment
•Written assessments•Oral assessments•Performance Tasks•P2: bite-sized weighted assessments in Terms 1,2, 3 and End-of-Year exam in Term 4
More varied modes of assessment
![Page 77: P2 Parents’ Conference - Ministry of Education](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020916/61b3862a45713033870576e8/html5/thumbnails/77.jpg)
The assessments will focus on:❑providing rich information on your
child’s learning progress through: quantitative feedback
(eg grades, marks) qualitative feedback
(eg teachers’ comments)
❑ less evaluative
![Page 78: P2 Parents’ Conference - Ministry of Education](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020916/61b3862a45713033870576e8/html5/thumbnails/78.jpg)
Is my child prepared for exams?
Bite-sized tests are components
of the exam paper
![Page 79: P2 Parents’ Conference - Ministry of Education](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020916/61b3862a45713033870576e8/html5/thumbnails/79.jpg)
Assessment Matters
…the school-based assessment system should be
balanced to place greater emphasis on skills
development and to provide constructive feedback
which enables more meaningful learning in support of
both academic and non-academic aspects of a pupil’s
development.
…schools to move away from an overly strong
emphasis on
examinations, and explore the use of bite-sized forms
of assessment which place more emphasis on
learning rather than on grades alone.
