BE YOUR
OWN REGULATOR
There are only 11 chemicals banned from
personal care and beauty products in the
United States. And that law was passed in
1938. The FDA has no oversight into the
regulation of beauty products, meaning it’s
essentially the Wild Wild West. It’s wrong to
assume that because it’s sold at the store, it
somehow passed a safety review for safe use.
Because of this, you need to be your own
regulator of the products you choose!

RESEARCH RESOURCES
Information is knowledge. The best
resources to learn more about
ingredients are:
HOW TO BEGINSwitching over to a natural beauty
routine is something that takes time and
intention. It doesn't happen in a matter
of days, but rather requires a paradigm
shift. Essentially, it's about changing
how you choose your products by
becoming a more informed consumer
through understanding ingredients,
keeping an eye out on greenwashing,
and understanding the value behind
natural products.
I encourage you to start the transition
slowly and begin with products you use
every day such as deodorant, toothpaste,
shampoo, foundation and more.

WHY SWITCH?
I feel passionately that everyone should
have a baseline understanding of the
ingredients we put on our body, knowing
which are harmful and which aren't.
Just because something is labeled "natural"
doesn't mean that it is - and that's why I
shop at these green beauty stores. They do
an extensive review of each product and its
ingredients, ensuring everything they carry
is safe! Sure makes shopping a lot easier,
too.

GREEN BEAUTY STORES

harmful effects of many chemical
ingredients on the market right now.
Many of the chemicals in every day
products are:
carcinogenic
hormone disrupting (think: your
period and fertility, energy + stress! )
toxic to the nervous system and
organs
lead to birth defects
an environmental or human allergen
