GM/Project Manager of A&B Communications Corpus Christi, Texas. Full P&L responsibility for this
independently owned wireless communications business made up of sales, technical, installation and
administrative departments. Primary responsibilities are to grow the business through sales and service while
maintaining profit margins. The company’s primary markets are:
• Oilfield service companies with subscriber recurring revenue
• Private systems (medical, refining, petrochemical)
• Maintenance agreements
• System design, installation and regulatory
• Public Safety, governmental, education
Other responsibilities include sales and project management of large opportunities, vendor management
Significant Accomplishments
• Authored and presented a technical proposal which resulted in the largest single project the company has
undertaken to date. Functioned as project manager during the 14-month installation. The project was
highly profitable and successful, dramatically changing the look and reputation of the firm.
• Led the company into the public safety communication business vertical, securing numerous large project
level sales opportunities through negotiation and without competitive bidding.
• Negotiated recurring monthly maintenance agreements with major petrochemical plants representing 40
percent of corporate maintenance revenue.

General Manager – Greater Houston Publishing, Houston, Texas
The company started as a venture capital funded publication with 4 employees, serving the southeast section of
Houston. By 2005, there were 4 publications (100K plus weekly circulation) covering the entire metro area, 30 full-
time employees and annual revenues of $5 Million. Responsibilities included sales, circulation,
production/operations, billing, accounting, investor and employee relations.
February 1996 – January 1999
General Manager – Kenwood Systems Division – Houston, Texas
Kenwood is the second largest manufacturer of land mobile radio communications equipment and systems. The
systems division was focused on sale, manufacturing and support of communications infrastructure throughout
the US, Canada and Latin America. Primary responsibilities were to grow the business through sales and support
services while maintaining required profit margins
March 1991 – February 1996
Regional Manager – Pittencrieff Communications (Later Nextel)
The company was the second largest SMR carrier in the country and much of its focus was on growth of the
company through sales and acquisition of smaller carriers. Responsibilities were to insure revenue growth through
development of the sales and service teams while maintaining cost controls for six branch offices within the
region. Additional responsibilities were identification and negotiation of prospective acquisition targets and the
merging of staff and assets after the fact.
