Galina Ulánova

Was a Russian ballet dancer. She is frequently cited as being one of the greatest ballerinas of the 20th century.

Ulanova was born in a family of artists of the Mariinsky Ballet. Father Sergey Ulanov, later became a ballet director, and his mother, Maria Romanova, was a teacher Choreographic School

At 9 years old was admitted to the Petrograd Ballet School

In 1928 she graduated from Ulanova Leningrad Choreographic School

In age 19 Ulanova danced her first leading part - Odette-Odile in "Swan Lake."

But the biggest success was the creation of Ulanova unique image of Juliet in Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet"

In 1943 she was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR."

In 1960, the last time danced "Chopiniana" she finished career ballerina.

Ulanova apartment in Moscow made the memorial museum.

The only dancer - her life were installed at sites
