NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION JUNE 5TH, 2020 PUBLIC NOTICE is given that a Primary Election will be held in Shelby County on Tuesday June 2nd, 2020. Polls will be open from 7. A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Positions to be filled are shown on the sample ballots accompanying this publication.

Voters must vote at their assigned precincts. If voters have questions about their precinct location, they may refer to their voter cards, or contact the Election Office at 712-755-3831 option 6.

Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on election day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the same precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by 12:00 NOON, Thursday June 4th, 2020. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification. Funding for the Low-Income Home Energy As-sistance Program (LIHEAP) has been provided under the recent Cares Act passed by Congress and the deadline for individuals to apply has been extended to June 30, 2020. Iowa families are facing many challenges as they cope with the COVID-19 virus. Some have lost jobs or had their hours of em-ployment reduced. These circumstances could lead to di� culty in paying their utility bill. If you fi nd yourself in that situation, there is help available through the State’s network of local community action agencies that have o� ces in all 99 counties. Families can apply for the Energy Assistance program at their local community action agency. This program can help pay a portion of an eligible household’s utility bill. Eligibility is based on household size and income. Those who have not already applied, or, who are facing disconnection, are encour-aged to do so at this time.
