Wellness Wednesday

This week on April 18th our Mindful Meditation program will be running

during Period 2 from 10:30 - 11am in the dance studio (you may bring the

optional cushion for comfort), and our Dog Therapy program will be

running during Period 3 in Room 216. Donations are appreciated but all

programs are free of charge and open to all staff and students who drop in.

Registration will be available on May 1st for students who would like to take an

international language course for credit! They are year long courses that begin in

September 2018. Interested students can register on Career Cruising. Please print

off the registration form and hand it in to Guidance for approval.

On Saturday, April 7, 2018, 190 students from 50 schools from around York Region

participated in the York Region Science and Technology Fair (http://

yrstf.info.yorku.ca/). The student listed below was an award winner of the 2018 fair.

Canadian Team Mathematics Competition

Last week, our math team spent the day at University of Waterloo, where they

participated in the Canadian Team Mathematics Competition. Our team com-

peted against schools from across Canada in individual, team, and relay events.

Congratulations to Linda Deng, Aolan Ding, Kelvin Ho, Judy Liu, Jack Xu, and An-

drew Yi for their outstanding efforts, and for achieving second place in the team

event, out of 36 schools! We are so proud of you, UHS Mathematicians!
