Dear Hyde Park Families, The first quarter of the school year is already over, and we are gearing up for the end of 2016. Our performing arts department will kick off a great holiday season with many special concerts during December. Please mark your calendar and be sure to attend, as these are extraordinary opportunities to see our students shine. These concerts are quite a festive way to begin the holiday season! Now that the weather has cooled down, please be sure students are dressed appropriately. Many students are dropped off and picked up, so they do not bother with warm clothes. However, because we have outdoor hallways, we want to make sure our students stay warm. STUCO news

What do about 500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, apples,

water, granola bars, cards, and paper bags have in common? If

you said a massive amount of sack lunches, you’re correct! Last

month, Student Council hosted their annual PB&J-athon. The

PB&J-athon was a fun way for Student Council to give back to

the community. At the PB&J-athon, the Student Council made

about 500 sack lunches, all accompanied with a greeting card.

The sack lunches were all donated to the Las Vegas Rescue

Mis-

sion,

and

distributed to those less fortunate. A

big thanks to all the Student Council

members who helped make 500 peo-

ples’ day!

Halloween Dance: Recently, Student

Council held their most extravagant dance yet! With a turnout of over 200 students, the dance

was packed! From dancing to donuts, the Halloween Dance was full of fun activities! The Hyde Park

Cheer Team even made a special appearance, and performed for those attending the dance.

Also, the Student Council saw an abundance of amazing and creative costumes. A huge thank you

to all the students who attended the Halloween Dance!

Kindness Ambassadors Program: This year, Student Council was accepted in the Kindness

Am- bassadors Program. Student Coun-

cil is very excited to be part of such an

amaz- ing program. During the holidays,

Stu- dent Council will receive 103 toys,

from Hasbro, to donate to any charity

of their choice. Also, Student Council

will re- ceive a 50 dollar gift card to cover

ex- penses of service projects.
