Increasing Student Responsibility • Middle School is a time of

increased responsibility

• Parents and teachers begin the process of giving students more ownership and responsibility for their school work.

• Help your adolescent become more accountable by having consistent expectations for them to do quality work.

Page 29: Oxford Middle School 6th Grade Orientation

Many Means of Communication

• At OMS, we offer a

multitude of

communication methods

that will help you to keep

track of your child's

academic performance

• These include: Haiku &

PowerSchool

Page 30: Oxford Middle School 6th Grade Orientation

Grade Checks • It is good to develop your

middle schoolers self advocacy skills during their time here at OMS.

• Help them establish a routine of checking Haiku and PowerSchool. They also will work in Google Drive as we are a Google Apps for Education district.
