The Anatomy of the TP-4TTheTakamineTP-4Tpreampisdesignedtobeeasytouse,yetflexibleenoughanyap-plication.Pleaserefertothefigurebelowwhichwillprovideyouwithaneasyreferenceforthefunctionanduseof eachcontrolandfeature.

Battery Tray Releases:Pinchingthetabsof thebatterycovertowardeachothertoremove.Thisprovidesaccesstothebatterycompartment.Whenin-sertingnewbatteriesalignthebattery’spolaritywiththemarkingsinsidethebatterycompartment.

Tuner:Thisbuttoncontrolsthebuilt-intuner’son/off function.Simplypressthebuttononcetoactivatethetuner(evenif theguitarisnotpluggedin)andthetunerdisplay c willlight.Whenyouplayastringthetunerwilldisplaythenotenameof thepitchyou’replaying.Then,simplyadjustthepitchof yourstringsinthedirectionof theflashingupordownarrowtotherightof thenotename.Asyouapproachthecorrectpitch,theflashingspeedslowsuntilyouareintuneandboththearrowsilluminatetoformadiamond.

Whenthetunerisactive,pressingthetunebuttonasecondtimeenablesyoutotunetoaarbitraryreferencepitch.Forexample,ifyouareattemptingtoplaywithsomeotherout-oftuneinstrument,tuneonestringofyourguitartothatinstrumentwhilethetunerison.Oncetuned,presstheCalibratebuttonandthetunerwilladjustitsreferencefrequencyallowingyoutotunetherestofyourstringsaccurately.Whenthetuneristurnedoff,itwillreverttothestandardA=440Hzsetting.

Tosavebatterypower,thetunerwillautomaticallyturnoff afterabouttwominutesofoperationandmaybereactivatedbypushingthetunerbuttonagain.If youfinishtuningbeforethetunerautomaticallyturnsoff,youmayturnoff thetunermanuallybysimplyholdingdownthetunerbuttonforatleasttwoseconds.

Low Batt LED:AcircuitwithintheTP-4Ttracksthelifeof yourbattery.Whenyourbatteryvoltagebecomes lowenoughthebegin toaffect thequalityof yoursound,thisLEDwillilluminate.

Volume:Turningthiscontrolclockwiseincreasestheoutputlevelofthepreamp.

EQ Controls:TheTP-4Tfeaturesathree-bandequalizerthatallowsprecisetonaladjustmentwithamaximumof12dB(deciBels)ofboostorcut.Eachsliderenablesyoutoincreaseordecreasethepowerofsoundinadesignatedspectrum.The“Low”controlsworksinthebassrange,the“High”worksinthetreblerange,whilethe“Mid”controlwillallowyoutoadjusttheboost/cutatamidbandcenterfre-quencyespeciallychosentogivethemostappropriateharmoniccontrolpossible.
