COVID pandemic has presented substantial challenges to construction industry in several ways wherein

immense restrictions & preventive measures have become essential for recurring the health and safety

of construction workers and existing buried infrastructure. These restrictions have enhanced the difficul-

ty levels of operation at one hand, but have also created opportunities for development and application

of trenchless methods to overcome them.

Trenchless Technology provides methods, systems, and working procedures for a minimal human inter-

vention in subsurface construction activities. It naturally helps in achieving adequate protections for all

concerned & is an important tool for meeting HSE needs in the hands of construction industry stakehold-

ers.

In these trying times, it is essential that the trenchless industry stakeholders should stand up together to

meet the challenges posed by COVID, and present viable solutions to construction industry. Needless to

mention, owing to grooving business volumes, these actions would also help trenchless stakeholders, to

advance the trenchless applications, thereby gaining through this development, in addition to solving the

problems.

To achieve such results, networking of trenchless solution providers with other construction industry

constituents is essential. Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (IndSTT) the apex organization to

promote trenchless technology in India, is honored to host the NoDig India Show 2020 – Digital Confer-

ence & Exhibition on Trenchless Technology Applications in the Post Covid World from 1st to 5th Decem-

ber 2020. Aim of this event is to provide an online platform to construction industry stakeholders for net-

working with trenchless solution providers for idea exchange, problem solving, & knowledge gain in sub-

surface construction in the post COVID world.

To meet the chartered objectives show shall have the following components:

i) Online interactive Conference comprising of a series of webinars on theme subject, highlighting the

role of trenchless in post covid world and providing guidelines, operating procedures, standards, and

economic parameters for the application of trenchless.

ii) Online interactive workshops from equipment manufacturers highlighting their products & services,

equipment safety, productivity, operating procedures, and benefits of using OEM products and ser-

vices, and launching new products and services.

iii) Online interactive workshops from Project owners, highlighting project details, both completed as

well as planned ones to provide inputs for other project owners in their projects, and to invite inputs/

suggestion for planned projects.

iv) Online interactive workshops from Consultants, highlighting project case studies of executed pro-

jects and/or special techniques evolved/practiced by them.

v) Online training programs on trenchless/allied fields for proficiency development and cultivation of

professionals in the field of trenchless technology

vi) Online Live shows, demonstrating trenchless/allied techniques for enhanced understanding of the

live show participants and clarification of their doubts in the highlighted trenchless techniques.

vii) Digital Exhibition on Event portal comprising of display of company video/presentation playing as

and when the visitor clicks on the link on the event portal during the show period.

viii)Live interactive multi channel digital booths for providing interactive sessions with the show visi-

tors with the event exhibitors through video conferencing.

ix) Live interactive multi channel digital booths for project site / equipment manufacturing plant / al-

lied location visits for the show participants.

x) Live interactive Chat room to assist networking of show participants, and providing interactive

platform for discussing issues of interest and doubt clarification.

xi) Online release of IndSTT Publications.

xii) Launch of Trenchless educational portal for training and education in trenchless and allied field.

About Indian Society for Trenchless Technology

The Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (IndSTT) is the apex autonomous organization to pro-

mote the application of Trenchless Technology in India. It was established in 1995 with the support of

the Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India. During the ensuring twenty five years, IndSTT has

supported the development of Trenchless Industry in India substantially & has made it one of the ma-

jor markets for trenchless applications. IndSTT had successfully conducted several Trenchless events,

training programs, seminars, road shows etc., over this period. The last No-Dig India Show was a great

success wherein 53 stands & open display space of various Trenchless equipment and products were

displayed by the exhibitors. Total of twenty-five HDD rigs were put on live demonstration by the ex-

hibitors along with live demonstration of other trenchless equipment. The exhibition was visited by

numbers of visitors who got the first-hand information and feel of the various Trenchless equipment

and their usage. .

The event, as may be known, used to be a physical one, but due to COVID, this year it has been changed to

online format. If comprises of a major exhibition & number of seminars & conferences on topical issues, and

line demonstrations which again would be web based.

Objectives of the event is to provide latest information, knowledgebase and guidelines for implementation

and meeting the exigencies posed in post COVID scenario. The issue being dealt are multi furious and need

international inputs to gain from the experiences acquired world over, and develop & apply the best guide-

lines in practice. To achieve this objective, a committee of domain experts, both international as well as In-

dians, is needed to guide the activities.

To meet the above need an International Steering Committee under the patronage of Padma Bhushan Shri

G.V. Ramakrishna & Dr. Uddesh Kohli, Chairmen Emeritus, Construction Industry Development Council has

been established. It is chaired by the Chairman CIDC, Dr. P.S. Rana. The committee has representations from

the international as well as Indian construction and infrastructure industry.
