OverviewThe following document outlines the System Requirements needed to install and operate the Munis Version 2018.1 V12 software. There have been many technology changes that may impact your ability to run the latest Munis Version 2018.1 V12 software suite, so please review this document carefully.

In general, Tyler Technologies will support Munis running on versions of Operating Systems and Databases that are supported by their manufacturer. If a specific OS or Database version has been discontinued, installation services and support on the particular platform will be limited.

IMPORTANT: Tyler Forms customers must ensure their document processing engine is utilizing Tyler Forms 1.0 (DocOrigins engine). For many long-time existing Tyler clients, this will require a migration from Tyler Forms Adobe Central. If you have questions or would like to learn more, please reach out to our Deployment Coordinator at [email protected] or our Tyler System Management group at 800-772-2260. When you are upgraded to Version 2018.1, you will be updated to ReadyForms™. The ReadyForms option allows you to make changes (such as name, address, and logo, and so on) to standard Tyler Forms templates where you would normally need to have Tyler Forms Design process those requests for a fee.

Supported Operating Systems for MunisThe following Operating Systems are supported for the Munis Version 2018.1 V12 Release. If there are any questions regarding your current OS version, please call Tyler System Management Support at 800-772-2260 x 3851, as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system.

Tyler Technologies recommends 64-bit Microsoft Windows Server 2016.

Supported Operating Systems 64 bit – Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Standard & Datacenter

64 bit – Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard & Datacenter

NOTE: Beginning with Version 2017.1 V12, Tyler requires use of SSL Certificates for all Munis application servers. A SSL certificate ensures network traffic is encrypted and secured. Not implementing a SSL certificate may allow passwords and other sensitive information to be transmitted in clear text across the network. There are a variety of options and vendors available for SSL certificate. If you need further assistance, please contact our deployment coordinator ([email protected]) to discuss which option is most suitable for your organization. For existing installations, we would strongly encourage adopting SSL certificates to encrypt communication.

System Requirements for Munis Version 2018.1 V12 Microsoft SQL Server must have row level versioning turned on for all Munis databases

Hard Drive Space RequirementsMunis Version 2018.1 V12 requires at least 5+ GB of free space for the Munis Application and at least two times the size of the live database for tempdb and database growth requirements. Additionally, customers utilizing the Accounts Receivable module will see increased disk usage due to enhanced product audits. Please contact our Support department if your server does not meet these space requirements.

Active Directory RequirementsMunis Version 2018.1 V12 requires user account names in Munis to match exactly with the corresponding Active Directory user account (including case).

VirtualizationTyler Technologies supports both the VMware Infrastructure virtualization product and Microsoft Hyper-V for virtualizing Windows servers. It is a requirement that a high-performance Storage Area Network (SAN) or RAID 10 direct attached storage must be used when configuring a virtualized solution and the system should be configured such that virtualized guests are given dedicated memory.

Most virtualized installations will require customized hardware configurations. Please contact your sales representative to be directed to the appropriate Tyler technical resource that will be able to assist in hardware selection.

Tyler Technologies currently does not offer any training or installation services for the VMWare Infrastructure product or the Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization product.

*NOTE: Google Chrome is strongly recommended due Tyler Development’s testing in our Performance Lab. We found that Google Chrome was almost twice as fast as Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 in rendering certain pages and in overall processing speed. Additionally, Google Chrome is better optimized to work with the various core HTML5 technologies and has been benchmarked by third parties as more compliant to HTML5 standards. If you are interested in reviewing the third party HTML5 compatibility benchmarks, please visit https://html5test.com.

Required PC Browser Settings – Internet Explorer 111) Application server URL’s must be in the Internet Explorer ‘local intranet’ zone or ‘trusted sites’

NOTE: if you have applications that do require Internet Explorer to be run in compatibility view, please add them separately.

NOTE: Microsoft Office365 is a subscription based version of the Office suite with several subscription plans offering various options. A subscription including the Office desktop version is required to take advantage of the following advanced Office integration with Munis:

The Munis Next Year Budget Entry (NYBE) for Excel® is a Microsoft Excel add-on allowing de-partment managers and those responsible for maintaining budgets to enter budget levels and projected actuals for the preparation of next year's budget. Using a web service to the Munis ap-plication, this add-on allows users to download, modify and upload budgetary information di-rectly from Microsoft Excel without ever opening a Munis application screen.

Microsoft Excel desktop client is required to create connections with Munis Data Cubes and is recommended to view these reports. SharePoint Excel Services, which requires Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise, can be used as an alternative to view these reports.

Microsoft Word desktop client is required to create templates for Munis Mail-Merge functionality.

Microsoft Excel and Word® desktop clients are also recommended for Export to Excel and Export to Word functionality, however users can save these exports and open in any program compatible with these formats (e.g. Excel Online, Google Sheets).

System Requirements for Munis Version 2018.1 V12 Munis can use most email services to send email notifications. Microsoft Exchange is required for the following advanced functionality:

Automated scheduling in areas such as Scheduler Central for Permitting, Work Orders and Util-ity Service Orders as well as Work Order Facilities room reservations

Appointment creation on records directly from the Munis client

Email services included with Office365, also known as Exchange Online, is also supported. Exchange Online must be integrated with the same on premise Active Directory environment used with Munis.

SharePoint Online is not supported with the Munis solution at this time.

Apple Mac PC RequirementsApple Mac machines are supported with the Tyler Dashboard application using HTML5. Apple Mac OS High Sierra LimitationsMunis is fully supported on Mac OS High Sierra with the following exceptions. This functionality can be obtained using alternative solutions such as RDS to a Windows environment or “Windows on Mac” virtualization (e.g. Parallels Desktop for Mac, VMware Fusion).

Microsoft Office for Mac does not support connections to SQL OLAP cubes. Due to this Microsoft limitation, Mac users cannot access Munis Cubes.

Munis Next Year Budget Entry (NYBE) for Excel is a Microsoft Excel add-on is one of several ways users can input and maintain information related to next year budget entry. This add-on is only available for Microsoft Office (2010 and higher) on Windows platforms.

Tyler Reporting Services / SQL Server Reporting Services reports cannot be created or modified.

Advanced Tyler Content Manager functionality such as batch document scanning is not supported.

CLT iasWorld RequirementsCLT iasWorld and Tyler Cashiering have version requirements where Tyler Cashiering 2017.4 and later requires iasWorld release 7.2.3 (Patch 13), 2017.1 (Patch 1) and higher. Any iasWorld clients who take that version of iasWorld will require Tyler Cashiering 2017.4 or later.

EnerGov RequirementsEnerGov has a direct integration with Munis AR that requires EnerGov 2016.1 and Tyler Cashiering 2017.4 or later.

Munis MapLink System RequirementsThe following Operating Systems, Databases, and GIS systems are supported for the Munis MapLink product. Tyler Identity and Tyler Infrastructure ServerAs of Munis Version 2017.1, Tyler Technologies introduced a new product for alternative means of authentication called Tyler Identity. In Munis version 2018.1 there will be 9 internal Tyler Identity applications per environment, with plans to add more sites for added functionality. Because of this, ERP

Tyler Hub System RequirementsTyler Hub is a central application that brings together permissions-based data from multiple places, offering pages that target the tasks you perform daily. It provides options to quickly change the way you view data, and it features a variety of visualizations that help organize data to make it more meaningful.

The following Operating Systems and databases are supported for the Tyler Hub Application. All new installations and al upgrades will include Tyler Hub. If you are interested in learning more about our Tyler Hub product offering, please visit our website or contact your Account Representative for a demonstration.
