Oregon’s forests are an integral part of our state. They provide a habitat for the animals that live in them. They help keep our air and water clean. They also provide natural resources.Oregon’s forests can be enjoyed by individuals as we enjoy the many parks in the state, take care of the trees in our neighborhoods, and help protect the forests.There are 4 main forest types in Oregon. Each forest type has unique characteristics.About 63% of all forests lands are owned by the public. Only 8% of the forests have been lost since 1850.
