Can motivate individuals and help to promote career satisfaction, enhancement and resilience

Individuals can tailor their learning to their own needs

They can study modules on a stand-alone basis, or as part of an award (PGC, PGD or MSc)

Each award has specific aims and caters for specific needs.

It has specific core (mandatory) modules

Individuals make up the total number of required credits, with further modules of their choosing

The specialist awards have more core modules than elective modules

The elective module list is also more focused on the specific area of study

The modules and their assessment still enable an individual to tailor their learning
