or education. It has also exposed us to security
risks that come with connecting
to a large network.
Misusing for illegal activities likee-mail , credit card fraud, spam's,
software piracy and so on, which
invade our privacy and offend
our senses.

The increase rate of technology in
computers has led to enactment of
Information Technology Act 2000.
Offences:
Cyber offences are the unlawfulacts which are carried in a very
sophisticated manner in which
either the computer is the tool or
target or both.
They Include: Unauthorized
access of the computers, Trojan
attacks, Virus Attacks, Hacking.

- MUMBAI, 20 September 2007 IT experts weretrying to restore the official website of thegovernment of Maharashtra, which was hacked.
3 people held guilty in on line credit cardscam.
- Customers credit card details were misusedthrough online means for booking air-tickets.These culprits were caught by the city CyberCrime Investigation Cell in pune. It is found thatdetails misused were belonging to 100 people.

Signatures Certificates.
The Act now allows Government to issue
notification on the web thus heralding e-
governance.

causes damages or copies data .
