Bunny

Once upon a time, time was right and all was quiet inMildberry Forrest. But who cares to hear about Little

Red Riding hood or Snow White? Well if you do, go!

Now, children who have magical powers, can travel

to this world. Full of fun and good times! Now, here

comes Bunny, the mild-mannered rabbit.

Albert! Another fairytale. Who is it about this

time?

Well, you!

Bunny happily bounced along until........ SMACK!

Bunny rammed his head at the horrible BIG BAD

WOLF!

Sorry! SORRY! Bunny cried.

Big Bad Wolf looked and saw Princess Pea, ruler of

the land, looking.

Boys. BOYS! Stop it this moment! Pea yelled.

Bunny did it, my lady. Big Bad Wolf tattled on

Bunny, his finger pointed at Bunny.

No. I was skipping to my house when, by accident

my head bumped into Wolfs stomach.

Bunny smiled like a little angel.

Hmmmm. This I will ponder and may I say, Wolf is

barely hurt. This will be a challenge for you both.

Tomorrow, Wolf and Bunny will try to blow down my

sturdy cottage. Whoever does will be the stronger

character. Pea announced.

Poor Bunny, he had no strength and was doubtful.

Moaning, Bunny went home.

In the house, Bunny sat alone when a knock came at

the door.

Come in! Bunny yelled.

Outside the door was Pea and a platter.

For you to eat and train well. Believe. Pea said as

she put the platter down and rushed away in her

carriage.

Bunny ate and he thought, If I train well, I may win!

Bunny trained and didnt feel better, so he

remembered Pea saying believe to him. Bunny

believed and he blew and blew; he did it! He blew

down the straw house he made for practice.

Big Bad Wolf came and Pea watched. Big Bad Wolf

blew with all his might and he knocked down the

straw and twig house down but did not blow down

the cottage of Pea.

Bunnys turn. Paramedics, come come. Pea called

and whispered, good luck.

Bunny has no fur, nor hide, but with all his might, he

fluffed his tail and blew on Princess Peas cottage.

Well done! Pea shouted.

Bunny cheered. Not at all thinking that he had been

beaten, Big Bad Wolf noticed Bunny.

You will pay! Big Bad Wolf yelled as the villagers

shooed him away.

Bunny had won and he was proud he was a bunny

after all. The end.

NO! The kids shouted as Albert disappeared.

HEE! HEE!

The Journal of Alicot the Brave

Chapter 1

I sat on the dock waiting for my river boat to pass by.

The man that owned boat 27B was late, and the boat

was gone. I looked past the dock and onto boat 27C

where a friend, Xavier, was waiting.

Need a lift? Xavier asked me.

I nodded and hurried over to the Redbird where I

knew the air was warmer than the cold icy air that

surrounded me like a blanket over cold feet.

Where to? Xavier asked me as he tipped his

fathers sailors cap.

The lagoon. I answered as the boat pushed off.

I like pie and that was dye and some of my knees

are cold and sore like a boar. Everyday indeed.

Xavier hummed.

The tune was to Old Mary, a sailing song that

helped the slaves quicken the pace of their work. Istarted to gaze out of the window.

The waves calmed my nerves and the roar of waves

put down my anger at the man that attacked me. He

wanted my pastry and I denied him.

Huh? I screamed, I had screamed myself awake.

Xavier and his friend, Derek, were surrounding me. I

suddenly felt claustrophobic. My mind was spinning.

Kings. Queens. Maidens with swords! I screamed.

Derek whipped his head around and pointed at me.

Alissa! Xavier cried.

My head was on a roll and I thought that I had went

out and spun on my heel at least 13 times. Xavier

was leaning over me and he clapped. Derek smiled

and his evil neighbor, Daniela, was smirking.

How did she get in? I asked Derek.

I dont know. She came in without a word. Derek

answered.

Well, she could stop! I yelled.

Daniela smiled slyly and slipped out of the room.

She is a liar and a snake! I screamed at her back.

Derek shrugged and left to catch up with his

master.

Xavier and I were alone.

13. The big one-three. Nice. Xavier said quietly.

He was 14 and I was turning 13. It was tough for our

friendship to be stable with the age difference and

all.

Off home? Need a lift? Xavier asked me.

Being a kid raised in Lard, an old town, I learned to

drive boats and fish. It was so easy. So, I nodded and

was led to a boat I noticed. Dock 45B.

Nice. You gave the Old Mary a touch up? I asked.

Xavier nodded and showed me some seats. I chose a

seat near the tall, looming window and I smiled. The

waves calmed me down. But what REALLY

happened? Did I trip? Did I fall?

What happened? I finally asked.

You drowned like an anchor. Xavier replied curtly.

I gasped. Drowned. Alissa Dune? Me? I was a

swimmer for all of that!

NO. I whispered forcefully.

Yep. Xavier answered as we docked at the dock ofmy house.

Thanks. I murmured.

Chapter 2

The small arrow cut flesh and buried itself in my skin.I screamed in pain and agony.

No! I heard someone yell, but my screams

drowned everything out.

No. This cant be happening. I thought to myself,

but the pain was enough.

STOP! I yelled, almost canceling my screams.

But no way. It wasnt gone. Then, Daniela loomed

over me. Her teeth white and shining. Thanks for

the trip, sis. Daniela seethed, and she was gone.

The pain was gone too. What was happening?

Xavier? Yes? I want water. And a band-aid. I

commanded.

I heard feet hurrying and a slam. But Xavier didnt

return.

Sorry. No band-aid. Went to buy some. Xavier

responded as he hurried back.

I grabbed the band-aid and gulped down a glass.

More. I cried trying to stop the pain from my leg.

Xavier reached over and lifted my leg up. The pain

stopped but kept going after his gentle touch.

No. I moaned.

My leg had been cut with glass from me trashing

about.

Your pills case. Xavier explained.

I nodded but didnt speak. The glass shard was

removed and I sighed in relief. The pain had subsided

but not gone.

Hey. Daniela said as she entered.

Who let you in? I croaked.

Daniela laughed and pointed to a key hanging from a

hook. Xavier smiled sheepishly and laughed. He

finished wrapping up my left and I noticed Daniela

giggle.

No. I croaked. My voice was gaining anger and

Daniela stopped.

Take a joke. Daniela muttered and Derek waltzed

in.

He was listening to an iPod, and it was on loop.

I take a walk, in the park! Dancing under the stars!

Derek crooned.

I sighed and threw a soft pillow at him.

Thanks. Daniela muttered and ripped the ear buds

from Dereks ears.

Xavier laughed and tossed Derek a band-aid.

You need it? Xavier asked.

Derek smiled and bowed gracefully. Then, pop and

rock came pouring out of the ear buds.

Listen. We need to talk. Daniela said.

She pumped up the music and began to sing.

You are a maiden that needs help! I think you are a

little kelp! I am your sister! You need a blister! I amMargret the hunger, help! The Fist is Derek and

Xavier is the knight. You need a little light. Dewy is

knight of Lard. You have a barge! You are a maiden.

Daniela sang.

Xavier clapped slowly, trying to take this in.

Well, you are. Alicot the Brave, thats you Alissa.

The Fist of Rage, you, Derek. The Rock Knight, Xavier.

I am Margret the Hunger. Dewy is the Knight of Lard

and Todd is the Prince of Lard. Daniela responded to

her own thoughts.

I tried to gather mine and was stumped.

Me? A maiden? THE ALICOT THE BRAVE? I asked

rudely raising my tone.

SH! Derek answered, making spit fly all over the

place.

Daniela nodded and smiled.

Twins. We are twins. She said.

Cant! Youre 16! I shouted.

3 years in Asia. Daniela answered curtly.

Great. I answered. Derek nodded and gathered uphis bag.

Knights need armor. Here is your set, Xavier. Derek

commanded.

Xavier picked up some rusty armor, and then, the

armor shined like 1000 years had been taken off.

Took me awhile but I found the Rock Knights

armor. Derek said proudly.

Back in time, twin? Daniela asked me.

I nodded slowly and then smiled.

This could be fun.

Chapter 3

Sickness washed over me.

Comet? Hows comet? We need pieces? Now? I

asked rapidly.

Derek nodded and rolled his eyes but Daniela made

it easy. She explained and took 16 years of danger off

her shoulders and onto mine. I sighed and smiled.

Now? I asked.

Daniela nodded in tune with Derek and they said,

Take your boat to the shores of Pest, that island. All

of the comet is there. The dude forgot about it.

I grabbed Xaviers arm and pulled him to the Old

Mary.

NO!

Please?

Alissa! I wont!

Derek?

N-O!

I sighed and tugged hard on Xaviers arm. He smiled

at my tugs and finally gave in. Derek climbed aboard

with Daniela hot on his trail.

Onward mates! Daniela, oops .... Margret the

Hunger, yelled.

The engine revved up and they were off.

Derek hummed a tune and moped the deck and I

gazed at the inky black curtain. How long had I slept?

Xavier and Derek took turns driving the boat and

when Derek went to drive, disaster hit. We crashed

and crumpled some old boats that had wood that

cracked with our tip touching it. Daniela smirked at

all of the crashes and I frantically looked out at the

sky.

Was I Alicot?

Here, twin. Daniela announced.

It was hard to miss in the dark because the rock,

comet as Daniela says, glowed bright green.

Say Medieval ages. Daniela said in a whisper.

I whispered and felt a rip in my body. The rock in my

hand had began to burn and it heated my hand. I

almost threw the comet/rock at the stone wall on

one side of the island.

Please work! I heard Daniela murmur.

I shook my head and screamed as my soul was

ripped out.

Pain flushed through my body. I felt Xaviers hand

wrap around mine in a protective way. Mom would

be very angry when I went home. But what was

home anyway? Medieval or 2011? Which to choose?

Coal or power plants? Musicians or iPods? What was

right and what was wrong? Daniela could tell me.That is saying, if we ever meet again.

Then, I saw blue. Was it sky? Then, my back hit stone

streets. Right time? Daniela stood dazed as I was

only 5 feet away but she looked different. Younger.

My age.

Twin? I asked.

Daniela looked at me and snarled.

We are twins but tell me, Alicot, if you are queen!Daniela roared.

Derek stood behind Daniela and he peeked at me.

My rage and Danielas matched.

Twins.

Twin sister, we are alike, but Daniela is no longer!Daniela screamed.

Derek stood in front of her and smiled.

Got to go. he wheezed like the effects were after

him too.

I heard Xavier and his body heat was blazing wildly

against my back.

Take her left and disarm her. Xavier whispered.

Then, he shook and turn to face me. Daniela was

gone and I gasped. My link to my family was gone. A

blink of an eye. Fast and quick but not witty.

Chapter 4

No, Father! I cried.

My character as Alissa was no longer there. I was

Alicot the brave. Princess of Ladonia. My father,

Margrets father, was in his study thinking. His

knights. The brave Turk of Lard and Knight of Lard

stood in the corner. Todd and Dewy. Alfred was

there too. Derek and Margret. I mean Margret and

The Fist of rage. Derek was a slave and knight for my

twin.

My evil twin that hated me soul. I was in my new life.... with an evil twin and knights that fought over

taxes and teacup sales.

No! my father shouted at Alfred, the Queen of

Lard.

(Yup, the QUEEN of Lard has a male name! Even if

she is SO female!) Her son, Turk, stood with his back

to me and Xavier who is Rock Knight, known for his

fight and soul, as he talked quietly to the knight.

Dewy was sobbing over a pie that was gone and

almost eaten. It was like he couldnt decide to eat it

or not.

So, I went over and ate the pie with the berries and

all. Dewy was shocked (like who wouldnt?) at me

and he began to sob louder. How was he even a

knight? I guess the knights were sad all the time like

Dewy.

So, Father fought with his second wife. His most

hated wife. Margrets step-mother that took her into be a proper lady. When I rolled in mud with pigs

and shot arrows at chickens.

One time I brought home a lamb that I caught, with

Rock Knights help of course, that was supper and

the Lard people were invited. (I hate Ladonias

people word. Ladonians. It is funny that the people

of Lard are called Lard buckets!)

So, we feasted on lamb and turkey with greens and

milk. My cows milk with some honey .... Yum! I am a

maiden that can hunt when my evil twin can not go

near a mud puddle ... or any puddle for that matter.

Alfred tries to save her step-daughter but she

doesnt care about her real child, Turk, even if he

jumped off a cliff.

So I decided to get Turk on my side. The White

Rabbit side as my dad says. Also the knight of Lard,

Dewy, will try to sneak from Lard to Ladonia. It is

hard because war is out in Lard and Alfred is keeping

track of her diamonds, not her soldiers. So Father has

to send Margret off to war for Alfred to listen.

No way! Father! I thought ONLY Margret was

going! I screamed later on.

The meeting was over and the bad news had been

washed on shore. Father had put me on the

battlefield. I was the left hand archer that came into

play only when needed. I was an archer but being a

soldier was too far!

Ill go. Xavier sighed.

No! No one is going. I yelled as I dragged myself to

my room in the towers.

Xavier smiled and said, I have to.

I shook my head, tearing my crown from my head.

The gold crown hit the floor and almost broke if

Xavier hadnt caught it.

Give it to Margret the hunger. I said with a hint of

sadness.

Xavier bowed and answered me with a, As you wish,

princess.

My mind was spinning. No way was I going to war.

Not the battlefield. No way.

Chapter 5

No! I heard a woman scream when her husbandwas taken for war.

Farmers were taken and soldiers were made in their

place. No one was not going sometime. The ladies

were put to making clothes and armor. I saw a man

taken from his shop and put in some kind of armor.

Work! another man yelled at his slave before the

slave was taken.

The man made a face and he was taken too. His wife

was looking out the window crying.

I screamed, Stop! a few times but didnt make any

other noise.

The men didnt listen to me and I had to move on.

Crying couldnt stop! Then I exited the market and

entered the battle.

Red grass stains covered the grassy plain. You could

see the enemy but the enemy couldnt see you. I saw

miles around but arrows shot around me as if theycouldnt see. My father was there. He was

commanding the child section. Archers and

swordsmen surrounded me.

Alicot. everyone greeted me like I was an old

friend.

I was the best archer for miles. No doubt.

Margret. I said as my twin approached me.

Die. she answered.

I rolled my eyes and spotted Xavier.

Rock Knight! I cried as I ran after him.

What? he asked.

His face was screwed up. He was tending a cow and I

knew it was mine.

Bessie. I cried as I saw arrows shooting through the

sky almost hitting Xavier and Bessie.

Margret smiled and said, Ops. Sorry.

The arrows in her quiver were old and worn. My

arrows were new and shining brightly in the sun.

Alicot, you are defenseless! Father cried and Iunsheathed my sword.

Now? the children asked.

Now.

We attacked the left forces as Madon and Madonspartner, Kale, hit our side. Children fell to the ground

but I was still standing.

Go in! Father yelled at Xavier and I flew past him.

Too slow. I chortled.

Xavier was hot on my trail as we zoomed in and out.

Hitting people and notching arrows. Some arrows

backfired on Xavier and he unleashed his inner

knight. Dodge and bob. Weave and notch. Margret

was keeping my pace and we fired arrows in timing.

You could hear Father smiling in his heart. His twins

working together. Then something hit Margret.

Alicot! Margret cried out in pain.Her side was

bleeding and I carried her lump to Father.

Bleeding. I said quickly to a nurse who whisked

Margret away.

I sighed and went back in.

Xavier was not to be seen and Father tried to call for

him but Father was called into battle and he needed

armor.

Armor! Father cried to his slave.

Nancy, his slave, dressed him and he went out tofight for Ladonias freedom from Madon and Kale. I

saw Derek weaving through the fight and I went to

join him.

Left side damaged. he told me and I went to

present the information to Alfreds knight. Dewy! I

cried as I saw the knight hold up his flag.

The light from the poles that were behind the flag lit

the flag. The heat went through Dewy and I rushed

to his aid. I helped Dewy to a tent where nursesrushed to save his life.

Xavier! Back me. Im going to sneak to Madons

king. I said to Xavier and he watched me as I moved

to the red tent.

Sir! Could you call off your forces? I asked the king.

He lazily grabbed a goblet of wine and took a long

sip.

No. he answered.

Turk was in the corner. Shackles covered his body

and I knew he was captured. I pointed to the

wounded tents and he yawned.

No. he answered again and I realized that the slave

to this king was the king of Kale. Take your last

breaths. I muttered as I swung my sword high above

my head.

Chapter 6

You what? my twin yelled at me.

I shrugged as I polished my sword. Red dripped all

over the wounded tent. Margret was amazed that I

could do this and still live. Dewy stared at me with

his blank eyes.

Dewy? I asked trying to find the Dewy from the

future.

Margret sighed and replied, I tried just an hour

ago.

Xavier and the king of Kale entered with Father.

Xavier! I cried and I threw my arms around him.

You OK? Xavier whispered in my hair.

Father tapped Xaviers shoulder and I let go. Father

and the king of Kale were talking about letting

Madon go when I spoke up.

I killed the Madon king. I shouted.

It seemed like everything stopped. Crickets chirped

and I slumped to the floor. Margret gasped and I

blacked out.

What happened? I asked.

Derek was being cuffed and Margret was yelling forthem to stop. Derek spit at me and I choked on my

words.

What did you do? I croaked.

Margret sighed and began to cry. Tears ran down

both of our faces in perfect timing.

You two need to go home. Father said.

I tried to object but Xavier led Margret and I to the

house.

Go. Xavier commanded.

No. I answered and held on to his hand.

I cant watch people die but fighting was what Itrained for.

Xavier, take me with you. I commanded.

But, Alicot! Your father, my commander, said

differently. Xavier moaned.

I shook my head and went to bring the code out.

Xavier was tapping his foot impatiently on the

marble floor and Margret was reclining on one of the

couches.

I could get used to this. Margret said happily.

I nodded at her and she smiled a rare smile. Xavier

nodded at the code and I explained the code again.

Looking as he had been defeated, Xavier sighed and

brought me outside.

Dont get in my way. Xavier said sternly.

Im princess here! I needa bodyguard. I shouted.

Xavier pointed to the tents where the wounded lay.

Go and help someone. Xavier said before heading

into the battle.

But wasnt the battle over?

Dewy and Derek sat on chairs.

Hi. I greeted them.

Derek held up his wrists and shook them.

I shrugged and said, No idea where the key is,

Derek.

Derek slumped in his chair and a guard began to run

over the beat him.

No! I shouted and protected Derek.

The guard nodded and began to back away from the

rabid savage princess. I grabbed the guard and asked

him for the cuffs keys. I thought that Derek was nice

but I was wrong.

Derek lunged at me and I screamed.

Help! Help! Rabid savage on the loose! I cried and

the guard tried and failed to fight Derek.

After all, Derek is a slave/knight person. Dewy

gasped in shock and Derek hit Dewy on the shoulder.

I gasped and lunged. My claws were stretched out

but Derek held up a sword. I sped back and reached

for mine. Our swords collided and Derek slid out.

No! I cried in defeat. I heard a scream. I heard the

whiz of arrows and Margret had disappeared.

Margret! Margret! I yelled trying to out shout the

battle.

No one responded. So, I went out and stepped on a

dead deer.

Dinner. I muttered and continued.

Then I tripped on something that moved.

Snake? I thought to myself but noticed the black

veil.

Chapter 7

Margret! I cried as my twin lay dead on the grass.

Youre next you know? I heard a sickly voice say

behind me.

I pulled out my sword and said, Who goes there?

The voice turned to face me and Derek stared at me.

Hey, Alissa. Derek said.

I stumbled at my old name. Well, my new/old name.

Xavier blinked behind Derek and I wanted to shout at

him.

Alicot run! Xavier yelled.

No. I whispered.

My sword hit wood and Derek laughed.

No. No. Princess. Derek seethed but then he hit

himself.

No! Derek shouted.

Yes! Yes! Xavier cried gleefully.

Derek hit his back and looked at my sword.

Die! Die, king of Madon! Derek said as he threw

himself on my sword.

DEREK! I screamed and began to pull my sword

from his frail, limp body.

Derek? Xavier and I asked in unison.

Margret and Derek are dead. How could I let my

guard down?

The king of Madons soul still lingers. We need to

go, Alicot. Xavier said in awe.

I didnt answer but began to run at top speed almost

slowing to tell Father. Keep on going. I thought

almost yelling at myself. Xavier laughed and sped

past me and I revved up my engine.

Beat me, Alicot! Xavier said cheerfully and I hit the

dining room.

We entered and stuffed ourselves with food. Lots of

eggs and lamb surrounded us and we chowed down.

Tell Father that Madons ghost haunts us. I saidthrough food.

Xavier nodded and repeated what I said. The maid

nodded and went off to tell Father.

I began to grab small piece of chocolate cake.

This is yum. I cried and then Xavier jerked.

Revenge is sweet! NO! Run, Alicot! Xavier yelled

and then he glowed.

Not like small glow. Not like faint light glow. I mean

full on glow.

No! Xavier screamed and I scampered away.

Father! Father! I cried as I ran through the

battlefield.

My father was yelling at everyone.

The the Rock Knight! I screamed at him and he

gasped.

No! Not my trusted sidekick. Father exclaimedbefore falling to the heavenly earth.

Not you too. I muttered and mustered me courage

to free the slaves and defeat the knight of rock and

my father.

But that didnt mean I wanted them dead. I wanted

the spirits gone.

Chapter 8

Xavier lay on the bed as our most trusted doctorsstitched him up.

Could you stop? I asked them but they ignored me.

Xavier? I whispered.

He mumbled something and a doctor yelled, Get

him some painkiller!

Another nurse, not like Mel who had her brother die

in battle, jabbed some red looking liquid into Xaviers

arm and he fell silent.

Please! Stop putting painkiller in him! Hell die from

that!

Sorry, miss. But we are doctors and you are a child.

But Im the princess!

Sorry princess.

I groaned and began to leave but stopped as the

doctors yelled in unison, Finished!

I raced back and put my palm on Xaviers head.

Slightly warm but cold on the edges.

Put water on a towel and apply it to his forehead. I

commanded.

Some doctors began to reply but a weak Dewy

entered.

Do as she says, men.

Thanks. I say to an almost faint Dewy.

He nodded and fell onto a nearby bed.

Treat me please! Dewy begs and a nurse gives him

some water.

What happened to Alfred? To Turk? I asked

impatiently.

They died. Just an hour ago but they died. No more

my queen.

Dewy answers.

I nod and begin to exit.

Tell Margret about them. Shell be pleased. Dewy

croaks.

I smiled and joined my sister.

Sorry I kicked you.

Its OK!

Oh! Dewy said that the nobles of Lard died! I saidjoyfully.

Margret sighed and opened her palm. A small chart

was there. She took out a quill pen and added a dot

to the DEAD list. I smudged one dot and she

gasped.

Why? she asked.

Well, Xavier could live. I answer as I walked off.

Dr. Craig Hale was sitting by his fire.

Should I have NOT brought the kids forward? They

are doing well! Dr. Craig said to himself.

That long 12 years ago was hard to see the grown

in Asia for 3 years, that didnt affect my plan did it?

Prologue

There is a land far from here in the U.S.A. A group

thought that the middle ages was better than ever,

so they took families to a world better than their

own. My parents lived there in peace until my

mother's friend, Queen Eliza, died. No one believed

my mother that Queen Eliza was her friend. We were

banished from the court forever.

9 years later, I was born. Mother needed a place for

us to stay so she smuggled us into the castle to work.Father said that everyone got ok food and ok

sleeping mats. Mother thought any place was better

than the woods.

They changed their names to Edward and Trina.

Mother worked as a chef in the kitchens while father

worked as the private runner. I put 9 years of relief

on their backs. I was 10 when mother died. I was

quiet as the coffin was put into the ground.

My best friend, Prince Marco, cried with me that

night. I worked as a helper to the princes so Marco

was my best friend. His older brother, Marcus, was

the one I took the least care off. He had my friend,

Katty thought it was the chicken pox or some weirddisease. Father had his smile on when he told

jumping with total glee on.

"She's coming! She's coming! Yahoooo!" Marcus

cried out.

The door's knocker rapped twice and Marcus put his

pout and frown on.

"Father? We need 12 cakes the size of pineapples for

Marcus's weights." Marco giggled. "Enough! I can

see your pajamas on! CHANGE! NOW! Maid, get

Marcus's crown on! We're hosting guests." the very

angry king boomed.

Marcus jumped in fright and Marco laughed some

more. The king's angry face was seeping through theIcracks and it melted all in sight. The floor burned

and the glass melted. "NOW!" the king yelled.

It was the only was to please him. Katty slipped

behind the curtain and handed crowns to the boys as

they changed. They put on their trousers and tunics.

Katty longed to wear the boys' clothing because the

clothing she wore was hot and itchy. Katty put her

Erica sighed as the scullery maids scrubbed thefloors. "The princesses are coming!" the maids said.

Erica was day-dreaming while Katty put hard work

into the floors that the maids kept dirtying.

"Could you please WORK?!?!?" Katty exclaimed.

The maids grumbled and pushed their way to the

floors. Katty was shoved to the ground. The maids

who saw it laughed and soon everyone except Erica

and Katty were laughing. "Stop it!" Erica yelled.

The maids looked up and saw an angry prince Marco.

The first maid to move was Katty.

Later on, the ball was being set up for tonight.

"I really appreciated that." Katty said.

She still was stuck on the two dresses she had.

need it tonight." Marco answered proud of himself.

The dress was stolen not from the cellar, Katty knew.

Everything that was pretty was given to Katty that

way. Nina wouldn't mind 1 night or would she?

Katty finally thought about father and the king.

Who's side was she on? Not the king's! But, father's

side was confusing her.

Should she? Katty finally thought, 'I'm on my own

side with Marco and Erica. We are robbers and we

are like hunted animals. We are different.'

Katty never thought that Marco changed. He alwayslooked the same. What was different? Katty finally

got it, he was older and more or less mature. Marco

was staring at the walls as if the king hid behind

"Well, yes." Katty answered.

Katty's father and Marco's father were acting

different. The king never had angry times unless

about guests. Katty was surprised and worried.

Marco sighed and began to climb the mountain.

"I thought Nina was coming." Marcus whined.

Katty's father was there telling Marcus the bad news

about Nina not coming.

"She's sick and didn't want to infect everyone with

the pox." Lord Edward said politely.

Marcus's eyes got weepy and wet. Marcus began to

wail and whine.

The maids next door started to giggle and laugh.

the floor. The maids with art pads were drawing a

crying Marcus.

Erica smiled slyly and commanded "I need 1 copy!"

The nearest maid gave her the copy and Erica burst

into giggles.

"This is so." Erica said but she stopped and whipped

her head around.

Standing there was the imposing king.

"Why is there laughter? Why is Marcus on the

floor?" the king boomed.

The maids scurried out and Marcus stood up. Marco

grabbed the drawing and tore it up as the king

reached down to pick the drawings up.

That night, Marco and Katty stood alone in theballroom.

"See that knight? He is from the South. Oh! Look at

Marco made his way to the knight and reached into

his pouch.

"Sir, would you like some carrots?" Marco asked

politely.

The knight took some and bit into 1. Katty came over

and stuck her hand into her pouch. "My bad!" Katty

called as the knight slipped.

"Let me wash your armor, sir." Katty said as she

whisked away the dirty armor.

The knight said nothing as Katty led the armor and

herself to the washrooms. Katty found 3 gold coins

and she shoved them into her pouch. The armor

went back to the knight.

Katty checked and double-checked her pouch.

"There's nothing in here,sir." Katty explained.

Katty knew the coins were in Marco's pouch not

hers. Katty was dismissed as the princesses walked

in. Marcus got Nina's attention and they started to

talk. The ball was officially started.

14 silver coins and 3 gold coins." Marco said

happily.

That morning, most of the poor townspeople got

coins. Some people got silver while 3 people got

gold.

"I'll be Lukas for my favorite uncle." Marco said.

It didn't matter who Katty and Marco were on theoutside but their insides. Marco continued to steal

from everyone when he got the chance. Goats from

the meat market, rings from knights' fingers, pies

from the royal bakery and last but not least he stole

Nina's dress.

Katty grabbed bread and cheese to take to the

homeless. There were commoners who now knew

the duo. Erica sometimes fell into play.

"We NEED Erica!" Katty complained.

"Erica, can you help the no longer duo?" Marco

asked.

"Sure! How about Katty,Marco, Tom ,and I? How

about the name

'The robbing quartet'?" Erica implied and asked.

"Sure." Marco said.

Erica stole from the scullery and bakery as Marcocontinued his robbing from the rich to the poor.

Katty and Tom stole many small needs like cheese

and cloth.

Tom was a great help and Erica was a cat. They got

names too. Erica took in Swan and Tom took Sawyer.

Sawyer and Swan were the quick-witted duo while

Katrina and Lukas were the stealthy duo.

Swan had her time getting brushes for hair and

bread, Sawyer got roasted duck and goose, Katrina

found cheese and cloth here and there, and last butnot least Lukas found gold and silver lying on the

floor.

"What do you mean? I didn't steal that hunk of

cheese. I walked by it!" Katrina would cry and the

owners would give her some cheese as an apology.

Soon enough, the rich and the poor couldn't be

separated. Most of the poor went to the galas and

balls along side the rich. Gowns made of silk and rich

cotton were worn among the rich as so as the poor.

Katrina felt something missing at every ball. She still

wore the gown Lukas got for her when the South

princesses came. What was missing?

Katrina never thought about her father'sdisappearance until the day she thought something

was missing.

"Have you seen Edward the runner?" Katrina asked

reported anything since the ball." Katrina sobbed.

Lukas straightened up and started to wave to

everyone.

"It is unusual. He reports to us everyday. Look at my

father. He's acting strange." Lukas said quietly.

The king bowed to Lord Palembang and hit his arm

on a table.

The king fell over and the lord cried out, "My king!

My king! A maid! You there! Help him up! Get him to

bed!"

Katrina ran to the rescue and took the king away.

The princes followed and the gala ended.

Chapter 7: Home sweet home or so we think

The four went home with the lost ones and survived.The townsfolk began to trade with the Big Apple folk

and got acquainted.

The four kept robbing but were ALLOWED to take to

the poor. The king let Lord Edward back in to the

court. Lord Edward and his daughter, Katty,

continued to help the maids and the runners so Erica

and Katty kept in touch.

Rico got arrested for not letting go of the stolen

goods that were the wire and string. He also went tojail for a long time, he still is there. No one knows

where the knight's coins were so the quartet went

without a hitch. The king left Marcus and Marco

alone for a long time.

Soon, Marcus left for the city. He came back with

Nina and her first friend. Marco left with Katty and

Sawyer to the South realm and solved mysteries.

Swan still dreamed of the galas she missed when she

went to the city in search of a fashion store to work

in. They all lived happily ever after until they turned13.

Chapter 8: 13, never more never less

Katrina turned 13 with everyone else. Lukas andSwan were there but Sawyer was stuck with Deena

on a matter. Katrina never wanted to be a robber but

at 12 she became one.

Lukas and Swan stood with her as she said "Yes, I am

13." to the whole town.

Katrina prayed to be good but that can never come

when you robbed the rich and went on missions to

the South. It was the day she turned 13 she changed.

Everyone asked for her signature and she wanted

everything including time to stop! It was the South's

fault that she and her friends had to go to the city to

talk to Rico, her enemy.

There was the South princess, Nina, talking aboutgetting Rico on the South's side to the town. The four

child robbers were sent to fish Rico out of jail with 6

gold coins and 60 silver coins.

That was what they did but getting Rico to come was

another matter. It felt like he was going to tug their

arms off. He never was so happy.

tea. It felt better and Katrina was never used as a

Chapter 1

Gabe was handed a blue and yellow card much like a

credit card.

What is this? What is going on? Gabe asked

Percy left and Cassie began to explain, You are now

part of ASA. The spy agency started by my father,

Colin Finkle. The agents have only strong knowledge

of science and math. The agents are you, me, your

parents, my dad, and Sam.

Gabe was confused when Tess dragged him to a

closet door in the reading room.

Cassie, the code. David yelled.

ASA, we will get to test their latest gadgets for our

own people. Boy wearing the Red Sox shirt, come

over. The last thing I need is for you to put on my

green and blue helmet. the man said.

The boy started to walk then paused and called his

name, Valento. Sir!

Valento took Percy, the other boys hand, to the doorlabeled Exit.

Percy took a short peel from behind and the man hadput a hand on Percys shoulder. Percy, with Valento

still on, was taken to the helmet and the man strapped

the helmet on.

Percy yelled, My family will get you someday!

Those were Percys last words then, he disappeared.Valento went with it. The man put them in a place

The only thing in Florida that was seen was 2 kidsrunning down a musty street then, disappear into thin

air. Cassie took three lefts then four rights. Gabe

stopped at the towns square then, spotted a girl halt

wearing that today! Gabe called.

Cassie looked at the city hall. Gabe was in town

the hall yelling to his mom.

wash.

Cassie, can you see me clearly? Gabe asked.

Cassie was unconscious for a quiet 15 minutes. The

clear blue light shone in Cassies eyes.

Dr. Charles took the stretcher that Cassie was on andled her to the rear.

Gabe followed behind. Before he forgot, Gabe took

finally got a chance to look around.

The doctor left the RV. Gabe stood up to walk

around. Cassie lay on a bed in a quiet room behind

the kitchen and across from the bathroom. Gabe saw

one more bedroom for extras. The doctor slept in

Cassies room monitoring the patient. The difference

was Percy and Valento werent there.

Back at Okia, many people in the SAWS program

were at lunch.

to note Gabe that the doctor was coming to check on

Gabe, hand me a bottle. Cassie said.

Dr. Charles took time to adjust the cast but did it well.

Cassie thanked the doctor and asked to go outside at

the next stop. The doctor agreed to let Cassie be free

for the moment then, usher her inside.

Cassie got out at stop 13 and took the card and phone

to buy food and call her dad. The only food that

looked tasty was a candy bar.

Yum. This will be my snack for now. Cassie said

under her breath.

Doctor Charles called to Gabe as he sat down to eat

dinner.

Gabe ate two plates of chicken rice and a bowl of

soup.

Tasty. Well, for now. Gabe said loud enough for

Dr. Charles to hear.

Miss Cassie, would you like soup, chicken rice, bean

pasta, or salad? Dr. Charles asked.

Cassie took the pasta and enjoyed the meal until they

stopped in Kane Hills, 20 miles from now. Cassie had

to wait for more meals.

Percy told Father of Evil the question if they could
