Overseas Fellowship of COSECSA As COSECSA grows, so more overseas based surgeons are keen to consolidate and renew links with the College. This is welcomed and encouraged. Overseas Fellowship is available to those who mainly live and work outside of the 10 COSECSA countries.
Application Criteria
1. A proven interest in surgery in the region
2. Possession of a recognized exit exam in surgery
3. Ten years consultant status
Fees
Application fee is US$250 and annual subscription fee is $80.
How to apply
Step 1 -‐ Complete the online Overseas Fellow Application Form. In order to complete this form you will be required to upload:
a) A short CV
b) A passport-‐style photo
c) Two references from COSECSA Fellows (these can also be sent directly to the address above)
Step 2 -‐ Pay $250 (USD) application fee online in the “Online Payments” section of the COSECSA website. Select the option “Overseas Fellow Application Fee” from the Member/Fellow/Overseas Fellow Payments dropdown menu. If your application is unsuccessful, this money will be refunded to you, less any bank charges.
Notification
Your application will then be taken to the next Council meeting for discussion and ratification and you will be notified of their decision via email.
New Overseas Fellows will
• Receive a COSECSA tie (or scarf, for ladies) and a certificate
• Be able to use the post-‐nominal FCS (ECSA).
• Be added to the members’ section of the COSECSA website
• Be eligible to apply to be a COSECSA examiner for FCS or MCS
• Be eligible for reduced congress fees
• Receive a regular COSECSA newsletter
