Overpopulation is a condition where an organism's numbers exceed the carrying capacity of its habitat.
Population density refers to the number of individuals per given unit of land area
World population density is 117.2 per sq. mile Allee effect could take place
◦ Extinction due to lack of resources◦ Increased inbreeding◦ Problems locating mates
Fresh water supplies are running low worldwide
With the polar ice caps melting our main sources of water are depleting
There is enough food to support the population, but sustainability is key
With 6 countries supplying 90% of grain they can run out at any time.
Regardless of overuse, overpopulation adds to the oil crisis.
Over 50% of the fossil fuels found are refined and made into gasoline
This may hold up until another fuel resource is found, however that is purely optimistic
Extinction could be around the corner
The United Nations indicates that about 850 million people are malnourished or starving,
and 1.1 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water.
This shows that Earth may be able to support its 6 billion people but only if millions live in misery
Overpopulation puts money into the hands of the rich, and out of the hands of the poor
China already has rules regarding birth control
In order to stop the overpopulation of the Earth, some countries need to limit the amount of children someone is allowed to have.
This may seem extreme however the World is depleting and our overpopulation is doing nothing but fueling that depletion
Educating the public on this problem is at least a part time solution for overpopulation
Condoms and pills could be made easier to obtain for anyone who needs them
Egypt announced a program to reduce its overpopulation by family planning education and putting women in the workforce.
If the rest of the world does this we could see a real solution to overpopulation
