Intelligent, customized, integrated solutions

OSP Solutions by WestellInfrastructure equipment and services designed to protect and support your critical network needs

Building a communications network that can sustain harsh

environmental conditions while providing the required

reliability can be a challenge, especially while trying to contain

costs. Whether it’s an industrial, utility, transportation or

telecommunications network, the connections between devices

must effectively, efficiently, and safely carry and process

signals throughout the infrastructure (cables, racks, enclosures,

power distribution, etc.) while providing remote management

capabilities.

Enclosures are moving toward being more integrated and

intelligent, whether in Broadband for consumers, Cell-site

Backhaul, Business Class Ethernet,DAS, small cell, Wi-Fi, wireless

or wireline networks. Westell provides a comprehensive range of

Outside Plant (OSP) and Industrial Network solutions to connect

nearly any outdoor building or facility.

Intelligent Enclosures

Service providers, tower operators, governments, and

other organizations need to ensure the right enclosures

and supporting devices are used to protect networking

equipment, especially when sites are in difficult to reach

or remote locations. Westell provides a comprehensive

range of outdoor enclosures that can be utilized in

virtually any installation.

The enclosures are designed to NEMA Type 3R, NEMA

Type 4, and Telcordia GR-487 guidelines to protect

equipment from harsh environmental conditions. Because

Westell enclosures have a similar yet flexible design

layout, installation is fast and configuration changes can

be easily made when a network demands change.

This ensures equipment can be operational quickly, and

no additional technician training is required. By adding

an intelligent site device Remote suite of products that

fits into nearly any Westell roadside, tower, or cell site

enclosure, the “intelligent enclosure” can then provide

critical data, including temperature, humidity, power

quality, and more. Our intelligent enclosures also monitor

alarms and report real-time data on:

• Enclosure door intrusion

• AC power failure

• Battery status (discharge/recharge, voltage, etc.)

• Enclosure inside temperature

• Fan fuse

• Rectifier fault

• Generator

• Video cameras
