Holy Cross Outpatient Physical Therapywas developed to meet the needs of the orthopedic and neuromuscularpopulation with a devotion to hands-onmanual therapy skills. Orthopedic manual physical therapy is a hands-on approach to treatingmusculoskeletal and neuromusculardysfunction. Our physical therapists aretrained in manual therapy and use specifictechniques, such as joint mobilizations, softtissue techniques and therapeutic exercisesfor improving mobility and function.

How does it work?Our therapists use joint mobilizations to help reduce joint stiffness and pain,increase circulation, and restore mobility injoints to improve biomechanical motion.They also use soft tissue techniques toincrease circulation and relax muscles sothe patient can move through the normalrange of motion without restrictions.

The Certified Hand Therapist Our Certified Hand Therapists areoccupational or physical therapists with a minimum of five years of clinicalexperience. Of those five years, fourthousand hours or the equivalent of two years full time have to be in directpatient care with hand and upperextremity patients. A Certified HandTherapist has successfully passed acomprehensive test of advanced skillsand theory in upper extremityrehabilitation. In order to maintain theCHT status, a therapist must continueto demonstrate professionaldevelopment and competency byrecertifying every five years.
