Unloading and StorageUnloading
The pumpstation is delivered in a box on a pallet. Unload with a suitable lifting device. It istherefore important to safeguard its stability. The pumpstation must be protected againstmechanical damage.
StorageWhen receiving the packaging, check so there are no defects on its content or on thepump station.
If the pump station is to be left in storage for a certain period of time prior to its installation,it should be left in a vertical position in its packaging.

Installation and assembly
WARNING: Arrange suitable barriers around the work area, eg. a safety railing.
Installation of pumpRead the Installation, Care and Maintenance manual for the pump before installation of theMICRO pump station.
Very important:
NOTICE: It is essential to ensure proper functioning of level regulator in the pumpstation.
MICRO 5G version: Connect pump to piping.
MICRO 7G version: Slide the pump along the guide bars provided for this purpose. Whena DX50 pump is used, the pump feet should be removed and the screws should be re-assembled to the pump body through the flange with tightening torque 5,5-6 Nm.
Figure 6: DX50 (MICRO 7G): With a socket wrench, loosen the screws that hold the feet.
During installation, on some pump models it is necessary to separate the electric cablefrom the socket, in order to pass it through the compression packing and to connect thecable from the outside to a standardized fuse box.

Installation of pump station outside buildingsTemperature
When the pumpstation is used in temperatures below zero (0°C ), the pump station mustbe insulated according to local regulations.
InsulationThe pump station is protected from freezing by horizontal ground insulation, 70 mmcellular plastic (A), about 300 mm below the surface of the ground. The insulation isextended at least 0.9 metres around the pump station in the case of fine-grained soils -clay, silt and sand (grain size below 2.0 mm) - and at least 1.8 metres for coarse-grainedsoils – gravel and stone (grain size above 2.0 mm).
If the pump station is idle in winter – in the case of a summer home or a long absence – thecover and surrounding ground should be insulated. A box insulated with cellular plastic issuggested. Alternatively, supplementary heat from a thermostatically-controlled radiator oran immersion heater in the pump sump can be arranged.

PrecautionsThe following minimum precautions must be observed for underground installation ofpump station:
Installation of pump station
Irrespectively of pump station model, the base must be made of sand or concrete slab incase of an area prone to flooding. The surface of the base must be built and compacted insuch a way that the pump station does not rest on any hard or weak surface. The flatnessand horizontality of the base must be ensured. The depth of the excavation site must allowan incline of not less than 2% and not exceeding 4%, for piping of used water.

In case of a water table appartent from the surface, the compacting sand must be replacedwith weak-mix concrete (total surrounding space of the tank-the space included betweenthe tank and the excavation must not be less than 20 cm).All specifications remain unchanged. In case of a vehicle passage way situated at least 3metres away from the manhole, it is absolutely imperative to erect a separating slab priorto filling.ObservationsReinforcement of concrete coatings is mandatory.Soil analysis is NECESSARY for any draining installation and must comply with DTU 64-1 aswell as the Order of 6th May, 1996.In any event, an additional guarantee concerning the proper functioning of the installationmay be obtained.
Shut-off valveMake sure there is a shut-off valve on the inlet and outlet piping.
VentilationConnect a ventilation pipe to the pump station.

Electrical connectionsElectrical Hazard:All electrical work shall be carried out under the supervision of an authorized electrician.
Local codes and regulations shall be complied with.
Before starting the work, check that the supply cable is de-energized.
Bear in mind the risk of electric chock and the risk of explosion if the electrical connectionsare not correctly carried out!
Follow rules and recommendations in IEC 61140 “Protection against electric shock -common aspects for installation and equipment”.
Check the data plate on the pump to determine valid voltage supply.
Check that the main voltage and frequency agree with the specifications on the pump dataplate.
Thoroughly read the Installation, care and maintenance manual delivered with the pumpas well as the manual for the start- and control panel.
Connect the motor cables and cables for the level regulator as illustrated in the wiringdiagrams following the control panel.

Start up and operationStart up and operation
NOTICE: Before startup, make sure that the tank and the installation are free from anymaterials/waste which could obstruct the correct operation of the pump
• Follow the instructions mentioned in the assembly and startup instructions of the pumpand the control panel.
• Make sure that the valve for the inlet is closed before connecting the pump to thepower supply. Open the valve located in the outlet pipe.
• Make sure that the pump and pipe assembly are fixed and watertight.• In the case of a 3-phase pump, check the direction of rotation of the pump.• Check the level regulator by filling the station with clear water to make sure that the
pump starts operating when it is supposed to.• Open the inlet valve.• Always close and lock the cover before leaving the pump station.

Maintenance
WARNING: If the pump in the pump station runs dry or snores, the pump surface and thesurrounding liquid may be hot. Bear in mind the risk of burn injuries.
A pump station requires regular maintenance.
The frequency of maintenance depends on the nature and amount of conveyed water.
We advise at least 3 to 4 maintenance visits per year.
Maintenance operation• Arrange suitable barriers around the work area, e.g. a safety railing.• Follow local safety regulations.• Always wear goggles and rubber gloves.• Switch off the power supply.• Unlock and unscrew the cover.• If entering the pump station be aware of the risk of hazardous gases and always use
breathing apparatus.• Remove the layer of grease which might have formed on the surface. Be aware of the
risk of infection.• Empty the tank as much as possible.
NOTICE: In the case of a pump with a vortex impeller, do not go lower than the dischargeaxis.
• Close the valves, unscrew the lower screw neck.• Remove the pump from the tank and clean its level regulator adequately (remove any
sediments deposited on the plastic).• Read the manual delivered with the pump before service the pump.• Wash the inlet pump housing with generous amounts of water. Check the state of the
impeller.• Rinse the wall tanks with generous amounts of clear water as well as the pipes and
accessories that have been in contact with the effluents.• Place the pump back in its position, screw on the lower screw neck of the valve, open
the valves, fill the pump station with clear water, start the pump and check its operationcapacity.
• Maintenance frequency will determine how often the pump station gets clogged.• Always close and lock the cover before leaving the pump station.
