With celebrity and influencer homes and gardens becoming increasingly

accessible through social media, customers are shopping differently. The outdoors is becoming more of an investment space and statement pieces

are on the rise for those ‘instagrammable’ moments.

For 2019, our Outdoor Living collection is set to be our biggest ever as customers treat their outdoor space with the same care and stylish flair as indoors. The summer garden is a homage to expressing personal style with bold individual pieces. Many customers aspire to create a tranquil setting to relax and unwind, while others want the perfect entertaining space, with a

mix of formal dining and laid back lounging for catching up over drinks.

Outdoor cooking continues to increase. Rather than be stuck in the kitchen customers prefer to cook outdoors while chatting to guests. Pizza ovens are a great talking point and we’re focused on delivering innovation to outdoor

dining with an exciting range of cooking products launching this season.

We have noticed customers are investing in more expensive outdoor furniture and want to keep it looking

its best. Weave is our best-selling outdoor furniture material – it’s easy to maintain and very comfortable;

outdoor covers rose 70% last year. All of our outdoor wooden furniture is now FSC certified too.

“BBQs are becoming much more than just a impulse purchase bought for May bank holidays. Customers are investing, with those priced between £1,000 - £1,500

seeing a 20% increase this year. We’ll be the first in the UK to launch the Heston Blumenthal 4K barbecue,

which is packed with the latest technology.

“These higher-spec models mean you can cook everything you need in one go and on several grills

without burning the outside and leaving the middle raw. They are being used as an ‘outdoor kitchen’ without the

need to invest in a fully-fitted entertaining area.”

Originally just two coloured chairs, our best-selling Salsa range now includes a hanging chair and rocker in a multitude of colours.

BISTRO SETS

Perfect for small spaces, or creating ‘zones’ within a larger garden, sales of entry-level bistro sets were up 32% last year, with bright colour metal sets proving popular.

ACCESSORISE

Outdoor cushions grew last summer and were up 70%. This year, there’s 27 styles in the range. We also offer two styles of outdoor rugs that are woven by hand from recycled plastic bottles. These rugs look and feel like wool but are waterproof, mould resistant, washable and hard wearing.

SMART INVESTMENTS

FRESH PIZZA

Entertaining at home in the garden has heavily influenced product sales over the last few years, reflected in the sales of BBQs and cooking tools. The stand-out product of 2018 was the Ooni pizza oven, up 115% last year.
