Priya’s Idea

I came up with the idea of basing it on a teen issue however base it on a more serious issue than typical teenage issues. An idea that struck my mind was to use the teenager as the main character leading a “normal teenage” life, however later experiences a tragic death in the family caused by cancer. This then effects the teenager being depressed and emotionally breaking down, no-one by her side. This results to the teenager going off the rail and her parents split up which causes more havoc. She doesn’t know what to do and is loosing control, this then leads onto her future life…

Leila’s Idea

My idea would be that the opening sequence would start with an establishing shot of the school ,which is a conventional setting in teen films. It will then show a montage of the protagonist with her friends, it then sets into the school scene, showing the protagonist walking towards her locker, in which when she opens it discovers threatening messages. She feels intimidated by this, confused and lost, through her rage at not fitting into society, she changes her image trying to find her place, and gain respect. The use of sarcastic humor to represent the stereotypical roles of popular characters.

Deep’s Idea

My story is based on a group of teenager’s aged 15-18, they are living a wonderful life, with a rich heritage, they have everything they need. They are shown as typical spoilt rich children, one of the conventions used in teen drams. One day these teenagers are out celebrating one of the characters birthday. As the night comes to an end, all the teenagers have had a lot to drink, and they just about know what they are doing. Its on their way back home, in a car an individual shouts out an idea randomly to visit one of the, haunted houses which is found very close by to where they live. So as everyone agrees to go there, one individual is hesitant on whether they should go to the house or not. So while coming under peer pressure the individual decides to go along with the group, and tag along with his friends. And as they reach their destination the group start having second thoughts, all the as soon as they enter the front yard of the house, they get the feeling that they are being watched, and from there unusual incidents start to happen to the group.

Pooja’s Idea

The idea that I think should be good for our opening sequence is that a girl is being bullied for been new to the school in which then is would go home everyday and think about what she has done wrong, this went on for 2 weeks and then people at school got to know her so therefore she became friends we most of her class mates. Because everyone has a birthday, her birthday was coming up, so she decided to do nothing as usual! But her friends wanted to throw a party. But then the party was an evening party in which her mother wouldn’t let her go and her grandma would start shouting at her. The next day she told her friends that she wont be able to make it to the party. So her friends were upset because they couldn’t do anything for her party. But as she hasn’t got a father she doesn’t have all the freedom she would have had if her father were there. The girl and the mother did get alone at times but at times they have the horrific arguments so they would fall out with each other and not talk for 2 days.

One day the girl decided that she will have to do something so that her mum could let her go where ever she wants to go and have her own social time…

Whole film narrative

The opening sequence starts with the protagonists, in her bedroom, upset, crying with the yearbook in her hands. She smiles at the photo’s of her friends but as she turns the page She starts scratching out faces of the popular girls and boys in the year book. Looking over at the scrunched up paper, it then shows a flash back of what has happened to her.

Our Final Idea

Our final idea has been inspired from the opening sequence of Napoleon Dynamite, regarding the fact that it wont show the protagonist or any characters, it will only use the year book as a prompt to understand the storyline.

Thus our opening sequence will consist of a camera shot focusing on a year book, in which during the opening sequence the pages would turn, and within the page intertwining the ideas the credits will be shown as a part of the page.

We have got this idea from teen filsm such as High school musical and 17 Again
