Dear St. Louis County residents,

St. Louis County is a great place to live, work and raise a family.

One of the highlights of the County is our dedicated green spaces. Our St. Louis County Parks and Recreation staff work hard year-round to keep our parks beautiful. Spring and Summer offer some of the best views in St. Louis County thanks to the diligent efforts of Parks staff, while also offering a wide variety of programming to enhance your experience.

Our Parks and Recreation team offers a wide array of Summer activities, including numerous camps to keep children engaged during their Summer break from school. Food Truck Fests will continue through the Summer and into September at various parks around the County.

And once again, we welcome you to celebrate America with us at JB Blast on Friday, July 2 at Jefferson Barracks Park. Featuring an evening of live music and a brilliant fireworks display, this event is perfect for all ages and free to enjoy.

In an effort to protect public health, we will be following all public health guidelines. Program sizes will be limited and safety measures put in place. Visit www.stlcountyparks.com for program updates.

St. Louis County offers over 70 park destinations, each with their own character and ambience. There’s sure to be one near you — maybe even one you’ve always meant to explore! I hope you will join my family and me as we enjoy the amenities and activities at our St. Louis County parks this Spring and Summer.

Sincerely,

Sam PageSt. Louis County Executive

Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park

PRESERVE. TEACH. INSPIRE.The Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park (Kraus House) is a unique and significant residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, widely considered the greatest American architect. Wright designed the house for Russell and Ruth Kraus in 1951, the first of only five Wright-designed properties in Missouri. The Kraus House is an excellent example of Wright’s democratic vision, intended to provide middle-class Americans with beautiful architecture at an affordable cost.

The home is notable for its architectural integrityand original Wright-designed furnishings and fabrics. With a floor plan composed of two intersecting parallelograms, it is considered one of Wright’s most geometrically complex homes. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its significance in American architecture.

The FLWHEP, a nonprofit preservation organization, purchased the property in 2001 and donated it to St. Louis County. The FLWHEP offers a variety of educational programming on architecture and design including tours, exhibits, lectures, and special events.
