To access these resources visit their website at www.formed.org. You will be asked for a parish code (which can be found on the poster in the welcome area or by phoning the office). You will be linked to Holy Family Parish and will not need to subscribe as it may prompt. You will then need to create a profile. If they do not yet have Canadi-an options for address you are asked to choose options for the United States and use the zip code of 00000.

CATHOLIC EDUCATION SUNDAY- November 1:

This year’s theme is Our Schools as Islands of Mercy. Pope Francis de-scribes the mercy of God as His loving concern for each of us. “He desires our well-being and He wants to see us happy fully of joy and peaceful. This is the path which the merciful love of Christians must also travel. Watch for students involved in the Parish minis-tries today. Continue to pray for our

Catholic schools especially today.

PROLIFE CALENDARS: The Knights of Columbus and the Squires would like to encourage all parishioners to take home one of this years pro life calendars that have been placed in the pews this weekend. Any proceeds from donations for the calen-dars will go to Alberta Pro Life chari-ties. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause for the past number of years.

LEADERS NEEDED: We are beginning to put together lead-ership teams for youth groups if you are interested in being part of these teams please call the office.

ALL SOUL’S DAY: November 2

Next Monday we pray for All the Souls of the faithful departed. The focus of this Sunday is on Christ, on His death and resurrection but we celebrate the souls insofar as they par-ticipate in the death and rising of Jesus Christ.

Join our fathers at 1:00 pm on Sunday

November 1st at Holy Cross

Cemetery for prayers of our faithful departed. You are invited to bring a candle if you wish.

By paying due diligence to the depart-ed we may gain an indulgence. Prayer for the souls in Purgatory is a require-ment of Christian charity, and it helps us to call to mind our own mortality. This indulgence for a visit to a ceme-tery encourages us to spend even the briefest of moments in prayer for the dead. A good prayer to recite to earn the indulgence is “Eternal Rest”.

To obtain the plenary indulgence on November 1-8, we must receive Com-munion and sacramental Confession (and have no attachment to sin, even venial). Communion must be received on the day we wish to gain the indul-gence, but we only need to go to Con-fession once during the period. And, as with all plenary indulgences, we must pray for the intentions of the Holy Father (one Our Father and one Hail Mary) on the day we preform the work of the indulgence.

SUNDAY REFLECTION: Let us pray for the blind, for those who cannot physically see and for those who serve and help them; also, for the spiritually blind and for those who try to bring them to the light of the Gospel: that Jesus, the light of the world, may grant all of them the gift of faith and hope in their darkness. Let us pray for ourselves, so close to James and John and to the rich man in our misunderstanding of his message: that we may be granted the gift of see-ing Jesus as our Savior and, putting aside our doubts and our false securi-ty, may follow him on the way to the Kingdom of God.

TOGETHER WE SERVE: Thank you for your generous support! Your gift to the Together We Serve ap-peal helps Catholic Social Services fulfill their mission, guided by faith, to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. Together we can make a dif-ference as together we serve. For more information, please visit www.caedm.ca/WeServe.

Holy Family Parish welcomes you with great joy on...
