Eligibility Criteria
Out-of-School Youth Between 16-21Low Income As Defined In WIAState Issued Picture IDSocial Security CardProof of CitizenshipSelective Service (Male Only 18-25)

In order to meet the criteria for the program, you must have at least one of the following in addition to the programs income requirements:

•Income verification documents includes at least one of the following:Copy of the paycheck stub ORFood Stamp, TANF, Child Support, SSI, and/or SSDI printoutProof of Unemployment (Letter of Determination Printout) or Lay off letter and verificationThe parent or youth can use a self-statement if he/she is not employed and the aforementioned documents do not apply.

If the parent’s income is more than the poverty guideline for their family, the youth is not eligible for the program.
THE GOALS OF WIA• To increase employment, as measured by entry into unsubsidized employment;
• To increase retention in unsubsidized employment six months after entry into employment;
• To increase earnings received in unsubsidized employment for youth, adults and dislocated workers; and
• To enhance customer satisfaction for participants and for
employers.

I-X-Cel Assessments & TrainingThe I-X-Cel Assessment is not a test. It’s used to determine your current employability skills in the areas of math, reading and workplace communication.
Participants who do not have a diploma /equivalent will be required to attend GED classes.
Each participant will be required to attend Green Tech Training for information on “Green” careers.
