Lives are saved…or lost… in The Moment*.
*The 0.0001% of time that a worker or instrument encounters an environment that will kill them and
others if the right decision is not made.
Response to The Moment starts with the user.
Those nearest the user encountering The Moment are typically next in
line to take action.
They also need to be equipped to ensure the best possible outcome.
Data helps us deliver better outcomes to our customer.
Powering a solution for The Moment is important, but we cannot forget about
the other 99.9999% of the time.
Doing things to be prepared for The Moment - like wearing instruments,
maintaining them, analyzing data – should delight the people doing them.
Technology enables us to achieve this…faster, easier, and in more
places.

What is LENS Wireless?
• Industrial Scientific’s Proprietary Wireless Mesh Network
• Works automatically out-of-the-box, no setup
• Peer alarms and data in the field
• No infrastructure, additional software, licenses, hardware, or IT assistance required
90
Linked Equipment Network for Safety
LENS™ Wireless
• Focus on what’s happening at the location
– Ease of use
– Out of the box operation
– No infrastructure
– No IT group or project needed to get going
– No central dispatcher or controller needed
91
Unpacking LENS Wireless
• 2.4GHz mesh network • Industrial Scientific designed
proprietary protocol • No configuration or
infrastructure needed • Self-forming, self-healing
network – Each monitor in a network passes
data to any other monitor it can see in that network
– Example: even though A, C, D and E cannot communicate directly with F because of the wall, it can still get its info thanks to D and B
92
• Any LENS-enabled gas monitor can view the real-time gas readings for other gas monitors within the group
– Readings from another member of a group are called “peer readings”
– Peer readings provide both gas alarms and data (ie, Man Down)
93
How Are My Workers Protected with LENS?
