How to Get InvolvedThe Y is mobilizing volunteers who are using their creativity, passion and hard work to transform our community. We invite you to join us! With Togetherhood, there are opportunities to serve on a committee throughout the year or volunteer on individual projects that interest you. Please contact our TOGETHERHOOD CHAIRPERSON, ALLYSON RICHARDS at [email protected] or Stephanie Pepper, Donna Johnston -YMCA staff working on community projects.

The Y’s TOGETHERHOOD program connects people from all backgrounds to plan and carry out volunteer projects that address real needs in our community for seniors and families. We have already partnered with Publix, Starbuck’s

and Empire Bagel on a daily bread run to deliver surplus food to families in need. We also work with the Family Church on food pantry distribution. Additionally, Y volunteers deliver Thanksgiving chickens to migrant workers and coordinate a special Christmas program for

families on financial assistance. They are creating a community garden, collecting slightly used tennis shoes, recruiting drivers to help people get to the Y and other places for healthy living activities, and so much more! Together we can help many people improve their quality of life! TOGETHERHOOD is all of us working for the greater good and supporting the BLUE ZONE concept in our community. Thank you to all those who volunteer and to Allyson Richards for leading the programs. Yours in Community Service! —Cindy Love, CEO
