Our Class 5’s have completed their main lesson on Ancient

Egypt and produced lovely models that are displayed in our

foyer. They put in a lot of effort on these self-managed group

projects.

Learning to work together in these group projects is a multi-

layered experience where they are not just learning about the

subject matter, but also learning about each other, them-

selves, communication, healthy conflict and collaboration.

SWS Waldorf 100 Big Walk Event!!

Dear Parents, the pile of clothing in our lost property is growing on a daily basis.

The recovered items will be displayed outside the hall area everyday for you to

come and collect items that your children might have displaced over the past

few weeks. Unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of each term.

A professional photographer will visit on Tuesday, 3 September, for our annual official school photog-raphy session. If you would like to purchase a portrait/class/school group photograph, please complete the attached form and return to Althea at Reception (together with payment) on or before Friday, 30th August 2019.

Thursday 08th August 2019 Dear Parents, SUBJECT: PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES The Board of Trustees have embarked on a process of streamlining our fee collection procedures and to this end, would like to encourage all parents to settle fees via debit order as of 01st September 2019. We refer you to the budget graph below and bring your attention to the fact that approximately 65 – 70% of the school’s fee income is dedicated towards staff/teacher remuneration.

The late/non-payment of school fees results in us having to borrow funds on interest to meet our payroll obligations monthly hence further depleting our budget surplus which is earmarked for improvements within our school. As an independent school, we are solely dependent on school fee income for the school to function and operate suc-cessfully. In order for your children to enjoy an optimal Waldorf learning experience, it is critically important that school fees are paid timeously and consistently, with the full support and cooperation of the parent body. The com-pletion of a debit order form will ease the process of collection of monthly tuition fees, allow our teachers to focus solely on their respective tasks and enable the school to operate more efficiently. We request all parents to please complete and sign the attached debit order form by Thursday 29th August 2019 and submit the original document to Natasja Meyer in the Finance Office.
