Our Lady’s High School
Proudly Presents
Welcome to Our Lady’s High School and to our performance of “We Will Rock
You”.
This production is the latest in a long line of musical and theatrical
performances. Our Christmas concert showcased the wide variety of talented
pupils that we have and once again our Staff Choir gave wonderful performances.
As usual it was a sell out and very well received by a very enthusiastic audience.
Tonight’s show is directed by Mrs Kathleen Smith
and supported by her colleagues in the Performing
Arts department: Mrs Glover, Mr Deans and Mr
McVeagh. It promises to be a wonderful experience.
With dancing, singing and superb acting it takes us
to the future where live music is banned and hit
singles are scheduled years in advance. However
the secret of the past is about to be resurrected –
Live Music is alive and well here in Our Lady’s
High School!– Prepare for the night of your life –
open your eyes, look up to the stage and see…
The team involved have been named in the
programme. There will be a formal vote of thanks on the
last night of the performance but I would like to thank all involved for their
massive effort over the last few months. Their commitment is second to none.
K Sinclair
A Word from our Director
Mrs Kathleen Smith
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, boy and girls and welcome to tonight’s performance of
‘We Will Rock You’. I am Kathleen Smith the shows Director and Choreographer. We here
at Our Lady’s High have incredibly talented young people and I am extremely proud of the
hard work and determination they have shown throughout this process. Their dedication to
doing their best is admirable and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I think you will all
agree when you see them, they are all fantastic. All the students taking part in tonight’s
performance, be it cast or crew, have work extremely hard and they all deserve to be
congratulated on a job well done! I personally would like to thank everyone who has
contributed to the show. The front of house team, make-up designers and my backstage crew
who are responsible for the smooth running of the performance and sleek set changes. I
appreciate the time and effort you have all put into making this show a success. I especially
want to thank my colleagues in the Performing Arts Faculty who have helped to bring my
vision to life. I am grateful you’re your constant help and support - I couldn’t have done it
without you. So sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
Joint Musical Directors
Mrs Anna Glover & Mr Mark McVeagh
‘We Will Rock You’ is a fantastic show with loads of memorable Queen Classics throughout.
During rehearsals the cast have worked extremely hard on a variety of solos, ensemble and
chorus numbers and their hard work, we are sure, will be evident in tonight’s performance.
Our band for the show is made up of teachers, instructors and friends. We would like to
personally thank the musician for all their hard work and for giving up their own time to
be with us. As always their role is vital to the success of a production such as this and we are
grateful for their contributions. All the cast and crew involved in the show are very excited
to be performing tonight and we hope you enjoy the show.
Assistant Choreographer
Mrs Clare Cooper
Hello and welcome to this evening’s show ‘We Will Rock You’. This is the fifth show in
Our Lady’s High School in which I have had the pleasure of working with our extremely
talented pupils, assisting with their choreography! Their hard work, commitment and
dedication is testimony to the fantastic show you will see running over four nights. So, sit
back, relax and enjoy the show!
Stage Manager
Miss Julie Ann McGhee
The preparation and hard work that goes into performing a musical of this scale is
phenomenal. Everyone who has been involved is the design and creation of the set,
preparation of the stage, sourcing of and making of props and costume needs to be
congratulated on a job well done. I want to thank my backstage crew. Their hard work has
played a major part in the successful running of the show and should be commended on their
work rate. I want to wish the cast and crew good luck for tonight’s performance. You deserve
to be rewarded for all your efforts. Well done guys – break a leg!
Technical Manager
Mr Christopher Deans
I am delighted to be involved in this year’s production of ‘We Will Rock You’. It is such a
fun show and I am very proud of all the pupils who have worked so hard during rehearsals.
I hope you enjoy your night.
Front of House Manager
Ms Fiona McGough
I joined the staff of Our Lady’s High School this year and have thoroughly enjoyed
working on this production of “We Will Rock You”. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
Galileo Figaro: Galileo is arrested by Khashoggi for singing, and is taken to
the hospital, where he meets Scaramouche. He tells her that he hears song lyrics in
normal life and in his dreams. Later, they meet Britney and Meat, which ultimately
leads them to meet Pop, who helps them to rediscover the lost musical instruments.
Scaramouche: Scaramouche is arrested for singing and meets Galileo in
hospital. Together, they meet Britney and Meat, then Pop, who helps them to
rediscover the lost musical instruments.
Killer Queen: The Killer Queen is the head of the GlobalSoft Corporation.
With Khashoggi, she ensures that all music is banned, and anyone who breaks this
ban is arrested and brainwashed. When Galileo discovers the lost instruments at
Wembley Stadium, she is vaporised by the Power Of Rock.
Commander Khashoggi: Khashoggi is the leader of the Ga Ga Cops, and is
the Killer Queen’s general dogsbody. He arrests Pop, Galileo, Scaramouche, Britney
and Meat in the musical, but is ultimately brainwashed himself when Galileo and
Scaramouche manage to escape from the Heartbreak Hotel.
Mr GlobalSoft: Mr GlobalSoft is second in command to Commander
Khashoggi.
POP & Rock: Pop and Rock are former librarians, who have read the lost texts
about music. In the first scene, Pop is arrested, but he returns in the final scene to
help Galileo and Scaramouche discover the lost instruments which are buried on
Planet Mall.
Britney: Britney Spears is one of the Bohemians, a group of rebels who strive to
rediscover the lost music and rebel against GlobalSoft. With Meat, whilst looking
for materials to make instruments from, he discovers Galileo. He realises that
Galileo must be The Dreamer as he knows many lost lyrics, and takes him to the
Heartbreak Hotel, which ultimately leads to Galileo rediscovering the lost
instruments and ending the GlobalSoft domination.
Meat Loaf: Meat Loaf is Britney’s partner and a fellow member of the
Bohemians. Although sceptical that Galileao may be The Dreamer, she travels with
Britney to take him to the Heartbreak Hotel to meet the other Bohemians. Whilst
there, she and Britney are captured by the Ga Ga Cops and later brainwashed, but
are freed in the end by the Power Of Rock.
The Bohemians: Katy Perry, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and
Bruno Mars
The Ga Ga Kids: Abby, Gabby, Toni and Joni
Cast ‘B’ will perform Tuesday & Thursday
Cast ‘A’ will perform Wednesday & Friday
Galileo Figaro played by Konner Millar-Brookbanks: Hi, my name is
Konner Millar-Brookbanks and I am playing Galileo in this year’s show. This is my third
school show, after previously starring in Anything Goes and Copacabana, and I am really
excited for everyone to see it. Since starting rehearsals, I have officially left school which is
exciting! I am going on to study music at the University of Glasgow, and the school
Performing Arts department has always been extremely important in helping me shape my
way as a musician, so here’s a chance to go out with a bang! I hope you all enjoy the show
as much as I enjoyed working on it x
Scaramouche played by Sherri Lonie: I am a former pupil of St Bernadette’s
Primary School and We Will Rock You is the third school show that I have taken part in.
However, this is the first time I have been privileged enough to play a main part. I am
playing the part of "Scaramouche" which I absolutely love. She is such a complicated
character and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her. This year’s rehearsals have
definitely been the most stressful, with so many things to learn in such a short space of
time and with 6th year being such a busy year as I have been studying for four Higher
Exams, as well as being part of the prom committee and one of our school’s Margaret
House Captains. There is also some added pressure since everyone knows Queen's songs so
well, but I can honestly say that I have loved every minute of it. The thing I love most
about our shows is the friends that you gain. I have made so many new friends through
this year’s show and I have also reunited with some friends that I hadn't spoken to in a
while. We have spent so much time together that we have become one big family who all
know each other so well. I can't thank Mrs Smith and Mrs Glover enough as they have put
blood, sweat and tears into this show with the help of their fellow teachers in the
Performing Arts department. My favourite subject has always been Drama and this year I
have been fortunate to be able to sit Higher Music, which is another favourite subject of
mine. Although I am going on to study Psychology at university I am positive that I will
continue to perform, as for me there is no better feeling than being on the stage. I love this
show because it is so different from anything that I have ever done before, so sit back, relax
and I hope you all enjoy the show as much as we do!
Killer Queen played by Shannon Waldron: Hey guys, my name is Shannon
and I am a former pupil of St Bernadette’s Primary School. This is the first time I have been
a part of the school show and I will be playing the part of Killer Queen. I have always
enjoyed Music and Drama and they are two of my favourite subjects, along with P.E. I have
made a lot of new friends from this experience. A lot of hard work has been put into making
this show a success and I hope you enjoy tonight’s performance as much as I have been a
part of the making of it.
Commander Khashoggi played by Damian Bonnar: My name is Damian
Bonnar, I went to Cathedral Primary and am now in 4th year at Our Lady’s. My favourite
subjects in school are music and computing science. This is my second school show, I
played Matty in Copacabana a few years ago and in this year’s show I am taking on a
fairly different role as Commander Khashoggi.
Mr GlobalSoft played by Scott Wilson: My name is Scott Wilson and I play the
character Mr Globalsoft. I am a 3rd year pupil in Our Lady’s and my favourite subjects are
Music and Drama, which has influenced me to play guitar, join the choir and finally take
part in the school show. This is my first school show and I feel confident as everyone in the
show has made me feel very welcome. I am proud to say this is my family.
Pop played by Nicholas Allan: Hi everyone, my name is Nicholas. I’m in my final
year of school and I’ll be playing Pop in tonight’s performance. You may remember me from
the last two school shows, “Anything Goes”, where I played the purser, and “Copacabana”
where I played Rico. Music
and Drama were two of my
favourite subjects (when I was
still at school), which you will
get a fair glimpse of tonight.
The staff have worked their
socks off in preparation for
tonight, whether it’s Mrs
Glover, Mr McVeagh, Mr
Deans , the one and only Mrs
Smith, and Mrs McGough. I have enjoyed being part of the making of these three shows
and I have made many new friends since coming to rehearsals. I hope you enjoy tonight’s
performance and let’s hope I don’t forget my lines.
Rock played by Dearbhla McCabe : Hi, I’m Dearbhla, I am a former pupil of
Cathedral Primary and I will be playing the character “Rock” in “We Will Rock You”. This
is my 2nd school show, as I was previously in “Copacabana” and I’m excited to be in the
show once again. Drama is one of my favourite subjects, so it seemed natural for me to
audition for a second time around. My favourite number in the show is ‘Under Pressure’.
I’ve loved working with all my friends, so I hope you enjoy the hard work we’ve put in.
Police Officer played by Ali Assar: Hello, my name is Ali. I am a fifth year pupil
in Our Lady’s and I have been in Scotland for two years now. My favourite school subject
is Biology. For my hobbies I love sport and I usually do lots of exercises. Usually I go to
the gym and do some fitness and body building and the gym is like my second home. I also
love to watch movies and TV. For my other hobbies I like reading novels and spending
time with friends. I’d wanted to experience acting in a show and this is my first time
working on a show. I quite like it because it’s different.
Britney played by Ethan Hendry: I am a fifth year student and a former pupil
of St Bernadette’s Primary School. This is the first show that I have decided to participate
in within the school and so far the experience differs greatly to the running of any other
show I have been in. Since my favourite subject is music I am really enjoying the singing
aspect of the show, and luckily my character has a singing role in the show. Doing the
show has really helped me understand the kind of person I am, as I have really enjoyed
being a huge drama queen about every aspect of the production, and I now feel that
everyone knows the real me. The thing I enjoyed the least was the climbing.
Meat Loaf played by Maria Casey: I am a fifth year student in Our Lady’s and
a former pupil of Cathedral Primary School. This is my 3rd school show with Our Lady’s
High, and so far I have really enjoyed it. This is my first year taking on a main part in
the show, so I’ve had a lot more to learn this year! At school my favourite subject is Music,
but I am looking forward to taking Higher Drama next year.
Katy Perry played by Niamh McDevitt: Hey I'm Niamh. I am a fifth year
student of Our Lady’s High and a former pupil of Cathedral Primary School. I'm playing one of the Bohemians, Taylor Swift. This is the first school show I've been in front of the audience as previously I have only helped out backstage. I decided to take part this year as it will be the last time I'm able to do so and I've really enjoyed the whole experience. My younger sister has always been the more dramatic one out of us both, yet doing the show together has proved we're more alike than I thought and I'm really proud of her for gaining the female lead this year. If I'd to pick my favourite number it would probably be 'Somebody to Love'. Hope you enjoy the show!x
Beyonce played by Keryn Shearer: My name is Keryn and sadly this is my last
year at school. Luckily for me this is the third school show I have been able to take part in
and perhaps one of my favourites. I have yet again, like all the other times, made so many
friends which I wouldn’t have made from not being in the show. Although hard work,
school show rehearsals have been a blast and so enjoyable to learn so many fun and
exciting dance routines and songs. From my first year in the school I have practically lived
and spent the majority of my time in the Performing Arts department with my strong love
for music and drama so I will miss not spending any more time with the faculty. I hope all
our hard work pays off and you enjoy the show as much as we do.
Taylor Swift played by Lucy Haggarty: I was really happy when I got my
part in the show because I love to sing, dance and act. I am a first year pupil in Our
Lady’s and my favourite subjects in school are Music and Drama. I have had experience in
some small plays at a drama club. My favourite thing about working on the show is when
everyone is together and learning new dances and songs. I am a former pupil of Cathedral
Primary School.
Justin Bieber played by Flynn Mimnaugh: My name is Flynn Mimnaugh, I
am a first year pupil in Our Lady’s High and I play a Bohemian. He is called Justin
Bieber. My favourite subject is Drama and my hobbies are playing x-box and playing on
my ipad, iphone etc. I have performed in many of the school shows when I was a pupil in
St Brendan’s Primary. I love the acting part of the show and some of the dancing.
Bruno Mars played by Shane Divers: I am a fourth year pupil in Our Lady’s High and
previously went to St Bernadette’s Primary. My
favourite school subject is either Music or
Drama. My favourite things to do in my spare
time are playing my PlayStation and meeting
friends to play football and other sports. This
is my first school show. I have been told by
many of my friends that it is a great
experience and said I would enjoy it. I have really
enjoyed the work in the lead up to the show and I enjoyed working with some
friends who I didn’t get to work with when doing Drama in school.
Abby played by Mary Kate Ross: Hi
my name is Mary Kate, I am a fourth year
pupil in Our Lady’s and enjoy subjects such
as English and Drama. I am a former
pupil of St Bernadette’s Primary. This is
the first school show that I have been in and I
have really enjoyed doing it. We have worked really hard on
preparing the show for you and I hope you all enjoy it.
Gabby played by Abigail McNally: Hi, I’m Abigail and I play Gabby in We
Will Rock You. In school my favourite subjects are Drama, Music and I.T. Outside of
school I do musical theatre at the Fine Arts Centre of Excellence and piano lessons at
Ruthven Music. Recently, with the Fine Arts Centre of Excellence, I performed in
Disneyland Paris and I’m so privileged to have had the chance to do so! I’ve recently
loved working with everyone in the cast and the teachers behind the scenes, so I hope you
enjoy the show that we have worked so hard to bring to life.
Toni played by Caitlin O’Neil: Hi, I’m Caitlin and I play Toni in We Will Rock
You. In school my favourite subjects are Music and Drama. I always do musical theatre
but I also love gymnastics. I am a former pupil of Cathedral Primary and I had an
amazing time sharing the role of the Blue Fairy with Emily Cuthbert and Abigail McNally
in My Son Pinocchio Jnr, although in Primary 5 I loved playing Tweedle Dee with my
twin sister, Collette, who was playing Tweedle Dum. I am in second year in Our Lady’s
and being in “We Will Rock You” is amazing and I love that everyone in the cast is so
funny and nice and that we all share the same passion.
Joni played by Kayleigh Rowatt: I am a fourth year pupil of Our Lady’s High
and after watching previous school shows I decided to audition for “We Will Rock You”.
This is my first school show and I’d love to take part in future productions. Drama is one
of my favourite subjects, so participating in this was a fun idea. I’ve enjoyed every minute
of it. I am a former pupil of Cathedral Primary School.
Galileo Figaro played by Jonathan Rolwich
My name is Jonathan Rolwich I am playing the role of Galileo Figaro in this year’s school
show. I went Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral primary, and I am overwhelmed with
excitement for my first school show. It has been a very fun experience taking part in the
school show and you also meet lots of great people and make new friends. But Drama isn’t
the only thing I like to do. I also play tennis, golf and some badminton, sport is a big part
of my life well. I have to say it has been a huge honour to be in this year school show and I
would love to do it again any time.
Scaramouche played by Orla McDevitt: I am in fourth year at Our Lady’s and
when not frantically trying to memorise lines for school show or cramming for exams, I
enjoy running, kayaking and Music. I am a former pupil of Cathedral Primary and I play
guitar, French horn (and some shaky piano/trumpet but we won’t bother going into depth
about that) and listen to everything from Taylor Swift to Kanye; praise be his name. This
is my third show, also first time I’ve had a main part reasons for which will become very
clear very soon. My favourite subject in school is probably History because it’s so
interesting, and outside of school my favourite thing to do is probably go exploring in
Largs. The best part about the show is probably the backstage shenanigans (no doubt
occurring as you’re reading this) but I suppose the whole teamwork/camaraderie stuff is ok
too. Yeah so enjoy and, if you aren’t really following the storyline, don’t worry too much:
none of us fully understand it either. Just nod and smile. Works every time. Bon Appetit!
Killer Queen played by Nicole Cassidy: I’m Nicole Cassidy, I am a former
pupil of Cathedral Primary and now in sixth year at Our Lady’s. This is my 2nd school
show. I was part of the chorus and also played the Purser in “Anything Goes”. This year
I’m playing the part of Killer Queen, which is a great part to play and I’m having a lot of
fun preparing for the show. My favourite school subjects are Drama and Music and I have
always enjoyed these as I am very into musical theatre. The thing I enjoy most about the
show is learning the classic Queen songs and making them sound amazing.
Commander Khashoggi played by Lewis Longmuir: Hi, my name is Lewis
Longmuir and I am 15 years old. In our show, I play Commander Khashoggi. I am currently in my third year at high school and all in all, I enjoy it. My favourite subjects are Drama, English and History. I have a thirst for knowledge and I love learning about new things. In my spare time (whilst learning my lines, of course!) I like to read and watch TV. This is my first school show and I hope it isn't my last. I have loved my time working on this production and, even though some aspects have been challenging, I have grown in confidence. It has been great meeting new people and making new friends. It has been a privilege working on the show and I can't wait to perform further shows in the future. I hope that you, as the audience, enjoy our performance, a lot of effort went into it!
Mr GlobalSoft played by Robbie Henderson: Hello! I’m Robbie Henderson and I
am 14 years old. My favourite subjects in school are Biology, Spanish, Modern Studies
and of course Drama. In my spare time I go out with my friends or family. This is the
second show I have been a part of as I was in the last production “Copacabana”. I really
enjoyed doing the show and being part of such a good cast and I would recommend to
anyone that is interested to do it. In this year’s show “We Will Rock You” I play Mr.
GlobalSoft, this show has been even better to be a part of and I hope you all enjoy
tonight’s performance.
Pop played by Nicholas Allan (As before)
Rock played by Hannah Duddy: Hello, my name is Hannah Duddy. In this
year’s school show I am playing Rock. I’m a 4th year pupil in the school. I have been in
the previous two shows, “Copacabana” and “Anything Goes”, and I can easily say this has
been my favourite so far. A lot of hard work by both staff and pupils has been put into
making this the fantastic show that it is. Being part of this show has allowed me to build
on already made friendships and make new ones. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I
have enjoyed being part of it.

and I am looking forward to the school show.

Our Lady's and this is my first high school, school
show. My favorite subjects are Music, Drama and
History. I've really enjoyed my time in the School
Show it’s been an amazing experience. A lot of
hard work and effort from staff and pupils have
went into “We Will Rock You”. I play the role of
Abby who is nasty to Scaramouche and Galileo. I hope
to be a part of the school shows in the future as I don't want this
experience to end.
