JOHN THE BAPTIST At a school open house a woman could be overheard introducing her husband to some of the other parents. “Oh, Bill, I’d like you to meet Johnny’s father. And over here, this is Marie’s mom; you know, the little girl from our Ellen’s soccer team.” With satisfied resignation Bill introduced himself not by name: “I’m Ellen’s Dad.” It’s good to know who you are. Be it someone’s father or mother, son or daughter, husband or wife, it’s important to embrace the full meaning of our various roles. John the Baptist knows who he is. And who he is not. He is not the Christ. Nor Elijah. Nor like any other prophet God’s people had ever seen. John the Baptist knows his mission is divine. He’s more than satisfied to be the one to announce the coming of God’s reign. The Christ is near. Make straight your paths. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY – SNOW REMOVAL
In order for our parishioners to make their way safely from where they park to masses on the weekends, we try to
shovel walkways and sprinkle ice-melt.
If you can spare a few minutes — at least 30 minutes — before mass start times, please consider being part of this volunteer Snow / Ice Removal team. No need to pre-register…just show up. If you remember to bring a snow shovel, that helps, too.
As with all volunteer activities, we ask that you put your name in the binder located in the book shelves in the vestibule. Thank you!

OUR LADY OF THE SNOWS 5 Third Sunday of Advent
Save the date for the Diocesan Virtual Day of Renewal! January 9, 2021
Why? Because our personal peace is not going to come from the outside. If nothing else, this year’s made it remarkably clear we must strive to find peace internally, despite the circumstances around us.
How? Pray, listen and reflect to tap the hope of the risen Christ. Workshops will range from spirituality to practical steps for renewal. Total offerings are 4 one-hour sessions ($5/each). There will be a morning prayer and live-streamed closing . liturgy with Bishop Calvo.
