Please join us in prayer this week for :
Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church July 29, 2018
From the Pastor:
Here is a prayer from soon-to-be-canonized Pope Paul VI that corresponds with today’s Gospel: Lord, when you saw the hungry multitude in the
desert, you said: “I feel compassion for this crowd;”
you, who with five loaves of bread satisfied the hun-
ger of five thousand persons, look kindly upon your
famished children and after satisfying their bodi-
ly hunger, be good enough to satisfy the hunger of
their souls also, with the heavenly food of your
teaching, you who live and reign as God for ever
and ever. Amen
God bless your week!
With love and prayers, Fr. Francis

Even a few short moments in the silent presence of the Lord is a precious treasure, for it is in this si-
lence that the Lord speaks to us.
Meditation from St. Philip Neri
Scripture is better learned through prayer than through study. If you are ill and cannot fast, be more generous in almsgiving.

Remembering those we love
Consider a Memorial Donation of Altar Bread and Wine, or a Memorial Donation for Altar Flow-ers for a week.
Flowers will be placed on the altar in the main Church for the weekend and then moved to the Chapel for weekday Mass-es. The name of your loved one along with the name of the person making the request will be printed in the Bulletin and they will be remembered in a special way by the Priests as they celebrate Mass.
We will also continue to take requests for the Tabernacle Candle Memorials for both the Main Church and the Chap-el. Please call the Parish Office (359-1230) for more infor-mation about remembering a loved one.
Blessings: In the spirit of inclusion,
young children who have not as yet re-ceived their first Holy Communion and non-Catholic guests or Catholics/parishioners who are present at Mass and who do not wish to receive Holy
Communion, are welcome to approach the altar at Communion time with arms crossed to receive a blessing.

It’s that time again !!!
OLSH helps Children go BACK TO SCHOOL WITH DIGNITY
Each year People to People sponsors the “Back to School with Dignity” program, providing, in addition to food, school supplies for
children so that they can begin their new school year as ready and prepared as their classmates. At a recent event I heard one of the People to People Volunteers sharing with her colleagues that the people of OLSH are amazingly generous and one of their biggest supporters!! Last year the OLSH parish family in addition to monetary contributions, donated several thousand dollars worth of backpacks and school supplies of every kind !!!
We would like to help with this wonderful program again. Every weekend, through Sunday, August 12, we will have a box in the back of the church for your donations. As you shop for school supplies for your own children or grandchildren, or just miss those school shopping days, please see the list below and pick up some extra items for these families. If you would like to make a monetary dona-tion for this wonderful project, please write a check made out to People to People and place it in the col-lection basket in an envelope marked “Back to School with Dignity” Thank you for helping these young-sters begin the year with a smile!

Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church July 29, 2018
A letter from the Pastor about Registration for Religious Education:
Dear OLSH Families,
On-Line Registration for the Religious Education program at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
Church for the 2018-2019 School Year began on June 5, 2018 and will close on July 31, 2018.
Currently registered families should have received an email from Parish Giving which will instruct you to reg-
ister on the Parish Giving website. Please use the user name and temporary password to verify your contact infor-
mation and details, make payment and select your class sessions.
Registration is on a FIRST COME – FIRST SERVED BASIS as always. All of our classes have an attendance cap
and once that limit has been reached, we will not be able to accommodate your child/children for that particular
class. You will then need to make a selection from another available day and time. Therefore, it is imperative that
you register early if you are in need of a specific day and time.
Please note that you must be a “registered member” of our Parish to register your child/children in our pro-
gram. If you are not registered, please stop by the rectory between the hours of 9:00 am and 12 pm to do so. You
will need to provide a copy of your child/children’s baptismal certificate(s) before we can process your registra-
tion. Tuition Rates 2018-2019: $150 for one child /$200 for 2 children/ $250 for 3+ children
Additional Sacramental Fees: First Holy Communion $80 for each student ($120 for twins)
Confirmation $100 for each student ($160 for twins)
SACRAMENTAL FEES MUST BE PAID AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION
A late fee of $75 will apply for all registration forms received ON or AFTER August 1st.

Wednesdays: 4:30 – 5:45 pm classes for all Grades 1 – 8
**We have added a 7th and 8th Grade to the Tuesday afternoon session for your convenience.
New families, especially those with first graders, should contact the RE office at 365-2141 as soon as possible to
begin the registration process.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that, as parents, you are expected to take an active role in your
child/children’s faith formation. As children participate weekly in the celebration of the Eucharist along with other daily practic-
es that nourish their life of faith, they are strengthening the foundation of a faith life that will carry them well into the future.
Weekly Mass attendance is a requirement for their faith development so please remain diligent in attending. You are their fi rst
and foremost teachers.
Thank you for your partnership. Together we can continue to educate the children that God has entrusted in our care.
Please do not hesitate to call the office if you have any questions (Religious Ed. office hours 9:00am – 12:00 pm, 845-365-2141).
We are looking forward to another great school year!
God Bless, Rev. Francis Conka, Pastor
