We will keep the same protocols and restrictions for attending Mass until further notice, but we expect new guidelines within a few days on how we can begin to have some meetings at the parish. We will keep you up to date as we get more information. Next week we are permitted to resume confes- sion and adoration. Earlier this week Fr. Richard and I published a letter informing you about how this will take place. In addition to individual confession being made available we will also continue to use the General Absolution at the beginning of Mass for a few weeks in June. This is to ease the consciences of those who may still feel uncomfortable with going to confession. (Continued on next page)

Dear Brothers and Sisters, As we continue to get used to the restrictions on our life it is important that we all stay up to date with the changes at Our Lady of the Rosary. So far, the schedule for Masses has been workable. Our team has put security measures in place in an impressive way which allows access to the church while still maintaining proper distancing. Bishop Guglielmone and the senior clergy in the diocese meet regularly to discuss ways to resume our normal church life, and they are in consultation with the best experts to advise them. We will keep the same protocols and restrictions for attending Mass until further notice, but we expect new guidelines within a few days on how we can begin to have some meetings at the parish. We will keep you up to date as we get more information. Next week we are permitted to resume confes-sion and adoration. Earlier this week Fr. Richard and I published a letter informing you about how this will take place. In addition to individual confession being made available we will also continue to use the General Absolution at the beginning of Mass for a few weeks in June. I would like to remind you that the Sunday Mass obligation has been sus-pended until further notice. Those who are elderly or who have underlying health concerns or who are especially anxious about the virus should remain at home. We will continue to provide at home worship aids and video homi-lies for you. However, if you do not fall into those categories you should try to come to Mass once a week. We encourage you to come to the daily Masses if you can. Proper distancing protocols are in place and for your spiritual health you should try to attend. Remember the Mass times for weekdays are: Monday 8:30 am Tuesday 12:00 noon Wednesday 6:00 pm Thursday 10:00 am Friday 10:00 am This weekend we celebrate the great feast of Pentecost—the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the church and the world. There are many reports of an increased interest about religion during the pandemic. It is not surprising that many people’s minds and hearts may be turned away from their materialistic pursuits to think again about eternity! Let us hope and pray that this Pente-cost may bring a renewed openness to the power and joy of the Holy Spirit in the world. Remember the gift of the Holy Spirit was not only for the church and the world, but for each individual apostle. The tongues of flame rested on each one’s head. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is meant to fill our own hearts and lives with a new power, grace and surge of resurrection life.

To close, I’d like to share a video of one of my favorite Pentecost hymns. An English choir sings these words by Charles Wesley: I hope you will enjoy listening and learning HERE.

O thou who camest from above the fire celestial to impart, kindle a flame of sacred love on the mean altar of my heart! There let it for thy glory burn with inextinguishable blaze, and trembling to its source return in humble prayer and fervent praise. Jesus, confirm my heart's desire to work, and speak, and think for thee; still let me guard the holy fire, and still stir up the gift in me. Ready for all thy perfect will, my acts of faith and love repeat; till death thy endless mercies seal, and make the sacrifice complete.

Fr. Longenecker has published yet another book! Immortal Combat - Confronting the

Heart of Darkness is a pro-found look into what we mean by the phrase “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” What is the “Sin of the World” and how does Jesus’ death change things? In the

second half of the book Fr. Longenecker ex-plains how God accomplished his work in a secret way in the world, and how we can par-ticipate in that work. Go here to learn more.

You can purchase the book through Fr. Longenecker’s website or Amazon, but as usual, Fr. Longenecker is offering copies at a special rate of $15.00 to Our Lady of the Rosary parishioners. If you would like a copy, please pick one up from the Narthex when you come to church and put payment in an envelope in the box when you take your book. If you would like a copy but you are not coming to church right now because of the pandemic, please email Donna Craft at [email protected] to make pay-ment and pick up your book.

Please pray for the members of our RCIA class as they prepare for Baptism, Reception Into Full Communion, Confirma-tion, and First Holy Communion.

They have been waiting patiently, as candidates and catechumens around the world were unable to enter the Church at the Easter Vigil due to COVID - 19.

We are pleased to announce that the OLR Food Pantry will re-open on Saturday,

June 6, at 9:00 am.

Thank you for your continued generous support of this ministry

to those in our community.
