Attention Stater Brothers Shoppers! Support our parish programs and purchase

Stater Brother gift cards. Scrip will be available for sale after Mass.

In order to meet our financial obligations, we need to collect $7,150.00 each week. This weeks collection total was $4,956.45. As Catholics, we are raised to be good stewards. We want to be good examples to our children so they can be good stewards as well. Our Lady of the Lake and Fatima Shrine depends on your consistent contributions. During this past winter due to inclement weather attendance was down, yet our church had to be maintained. The money you contribute to our parish each week makes ministry happen. Your donations help pay for utilities, equipment, maintenance, and materials. Programs and services which benefit all members of our parish family come from your generosity. An alternate means of sup-port for our parish is the WeShare program. This program col-lects monthly contributions straight from your checking, sav-ings, or credit card account. WeShare allows you to plan your giving in the same way you budget your other financial commitments. You no longer have to be concerned about catching up on missed offertory donations when you might miss Mass because of illness, inclement weather, on vacation, etc. Please consider secure electronic giving through We Share for your donations.

May 26, 2019, Sixth Sunday of Easter

Six weeks into our Easter rejoicing, the Church gives us readings today that start preparing us for a return to ordinary life. The Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel both dwell on proper daily behavior for followers of Jesus, while the reading from Revelation reminds us why we bother with laws at all. In Acts, leaders of the church meet to discuss which essential elements of the Mosaic Law converts must obey if they wish to be disciples of Jesus Christ. John’s Gospel reflects back to the Last Supper discourse when Jesus himself emphasizes the importance of obeying God’s com-mandments. Observing God’s law, says Je-sus, shows a desire to be intimate with the Lord. We follow rules not for their own sake, but to love God and neighbor better. This more excellent love brings us closer to Revelation’s vision of paradise, gleaming with “the splendor of God.” Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

“Raise the Roof” 75th Anniversary Growing Tree Fundraiser Through the generous donations of our parishioners, we have been able to replace the roof on three of our buildings; the rectory, youth center, and the church. Through your faithful contributions to the DDF and the sale of

one of our cabins we had a base for this humongous project. We still have 1 building that is still in desperate need of a new roof. This is the hall where the church has special events, fund-raisers, and the children have religious education classes. Our primary campaign for these funds are to complete the Growing Tree in the church with 75th Anniversary leaves. Donations of $1,000 which can be arranged in payments, will gratefully be acknowledged with your family name or that of someone living or deceased that you would like to honor. If you can participate in this fundraiser please use the envelopes and pledge sheets under the growing tree or call the office for more information.
